one will for sure, they go in opposite directions, NG usually pops 20 cents one way or another, so buy both 1 min before report with a 5 cent stop

unless for some stupid reason it goes down to take ur stop then goes back the other direction and double fk you hahaha

Nah - I hate penny stocks. I used to play them a lot, but most of them time they are scams (or so it seems to me). To be honest I would rather buy HNU than any penny stock! :) This is the only penny stock I play.

With ASFX I have been watching enough to know when to start accumulating and when to sell off. They have been putting together some nice stuff in terms of their company. I generally dont invest that much money in these and play them quite cautiously. So far I have found the rewards to be well worth the risk. Last week they had a 700%+ run and today ~90%. I was luckily in for both. :bigpimp:

Why short oil before it breaks this trendline?

http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj259/broken_legs/Oil_082609.jpg

Tomorrow it will meet the line at 67.50ish. Thats a 10% drop on HOU from the closing today (if it returns to the trend line again) So I'd be setting your stops around 8.00 on HOU.

My feeling is that it will return to the trendline again before inventories, and break through 74 on the data.

because 99.99 percent of the people do not have the patient to wait for a clear cut signal.

and beside your move would be more of a daily signal move, this is a short term thread, of course we are trading in every shorter break outs. for example short when oil breaks below 73.50 support, and it tanked to 71.12 shortly afterwards.

mind you one's strategy if you happen to get the first move right, you have the options of taking profit off the table or riding out with a break even stop lost that if the next move is further break down, then you are way ahead of everyone else.

Not a vocabulary lesson, but which stocks you are looking at and why.

^ this trend it self has been helpful, I am new too and had made my first trade this morning, bought 200 shares of HOU @ 8.83. I still don't understand all the technical things, but I nail my balls to the wall when I anticipate there is money to be made. Most of these stocks I find that are talked about here are Crude oil, natural gas, gold, and silver. I guess these are the real money makers.

As soon as I open a non-registered account I m gonna do up banks and insurances companies and maybe start trading at the 10-15k mark. Right now, I m just taking time to read, familerize myself with everything, and mainly to get the ball rolling.

Fair enough. You are nimble and quick. Much quicker than I am (at the moment) :)

I just keep reading the vacuum here when you miss a post SR - Everyone is still holding their HOD or HOU, and I'm not sure they are really seeing the big pic - Thats why I'm posting my chart.

I'm waiting for the big move in oil if it breaks down - But I may actually take another long position tomorrow before the inventories and set the stop where I mentioned. I just have a feeling it's going to go higher. To obvious for a breakdown here so it won't happen.

Housing starts are up 9% - The recession is over!

Only 4 more days until the Fed has to release court ordered docs on what banks and whomever else received that 2 trillion dollars - If that doesn't Fup the markets i dont know what will.

yeah really your charts just shows a bigger move the trade off will be a greater range, but I think alot of folks on here just want quick moves with tight stop. Unfortunately, many times when the moves are incorrect, I think most of us wants to hold on and refuse to take a small loss, and thats when they turn to the bigger picture (like your chart for example) for glues if they should hold it as it they are in for the bigger picture.

Well the rally we had this year has been quite good, now that you see headlines the recession is over and such, I hope people do not get overly bullish on the market. Remember when DOW was at 6500 and everyone news was pointing further down side? yet we got our 5+ month rally? its funny how bear market rally comes in 3 and 6 month duration. and we are near that 6 month period. Just when everyone is saying it is over. its time to think the other way.

ok so while this week the calls has been quite close to being right every day, we are not really getting any earth shattering movements. looking at oil it was very weak and undecisive, however as I have suggested back on tuesday, oil would likely come down for a divergence at a lower price than 71.12, and so it did just that, with the dollar/euro and gold looking a bit bullish for the next hour or so, I expect the next short move for oil should be up, while I wont be shorting at current levels, I wont be going long either. I would considering oil to be a good place to short near between 73-73.5 unless oil can take out 70.50 quickly. Yes that means imo if 70.50 gives way the drop would continue but until that happens I expect oil to recover some what this morning and I am looking for a higher level short somewhere between 73-73.50

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil082709.jpg

as for gold, this entire week was all swing trades. it would be haven if you had followed my calls all week unfortunately even I did not trade on my own signal, however gold is getting a bit noisy in the low level with a lot of different trend lines holding price in both direction. Over all on the daily as I posted yesterday appears bearish and price is struggling to hold on above the massive up trend line. every day it finds a way in attampt to push lower. so unless gold suddenly takes out 957, I would continue to follow the pattern of shorting the up move, as seen in the circled areas those are all places where gold turned around forming quite the resistance and support. next most likely move if gold is to continue higher this morning would be at around 952, then its back to 957. so again a good shorting opportunity between 952-957 just like tuesday.

I am still looking for that key break down below 937. which would be significant.

http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/gold082709.jpg

I caution the dollar index eariler in the week as we dont know what it wanted to do, but thankfullly we got some clues when it broken above the down trend line, and so technically I expect this trend line to be come a good support. my expecation is the dollar will try to find a bottom, retesting the trend line would be a good target, and to end this will require dollar breaking the shorter thiner red trend line to resume its move tick. as the dollar is right between two hard places. wait a bit for a signal.

euro clearly has a very convincing up trend line support price right up to 4230, it would be my wish to also see a break down below this level to confirm along with the dollar that the minor correction is finished and begin another leg forward.

wow, HNU taking a freaking beating.

2.64 now. brutal

Stocks were 516 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 500 Bcf above the 5-year average of 2,758 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 153 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 43 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 271 Bcf above the 5-year average of 808 Bcf after a net injection of 5 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 76 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 6 Bcf. At 3,258 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.

so much for this....
Natural gas was lower overnight as it extends this week's trading range. Stochastics and the RSI are oversold but are turning bullish hinting that a short term low might be in or is near. Closes above the 20 day moving average crossing at 3.35 are needed to confirm that a short term low has been posted.

ive already mention weeks ago that NG chart is so bearish its not even funny. the big contango gap roll over is what really accelerated the drop as well on hnu as people only look at hnu as oh 4 dollar is the low, now that its 2.70s its a good buy. thats not how it works. because when it dropped from 4 to 2.70, NG probably dropped as an example from 4 to 3 bucks. but after roll oever NG is back at 3.50, but hnu remained at 2.70, so when NG falls again from 3.50 to 3.00, it will bring 2.70 down to probablly 2.10. see what is going on here.

I said if one is to bet on NG, I would short it,

unless you can stomach downside at least to 2.6-2.8, september is near and is a typical month for strong NG prices. but sometimes you cant bet on things like this.

Another reverse split is coming for HNU hehe

What I don't understand is how NG can keep going down and the producers keep on going. I've read that new wells need $7 NG to make a profit. Something's gotta give somewhere. Hopefully I can average down in HNU enough along the way that I can get out with a relatively small loss. :barf:

True dat buddy. HNU brings new meanings to capital losses.

I think the dictionary should be re-written

Capital losses = see HNU-T

i contemplated taking 18.84 bid for $1k gain but didnt and now silver back down. I'd hate to see this thing back in the low 18's as my cost is 18.52 so i'm breakeven right now.

hmm right now euro, gold and oil all seems to be holding and not wanting to break down, have to see what its trying to do.

if oil breaks this mornings high above 71.50s, it could still make a run back to 73s.

now the thing about NG, the sept contract seems to be still kicking around and hitted the low 2.69 I believe. while my chart is already trading oct price at around 3.13, the sept price at 2.69 could signal we are very near a short term bottom for NG.

I will not be surprise we get a good rally off around here, as many weeks ago, if I Was still looking at sept NG prices. I was suggesting after coming down 4.16, the next target will be between 2.6-2.8, which it is currently in.

I may be tempted to throw in a small position here with stops below either todays low or below oct NG price at 3.00 and try to catch s small rally

for silver, while it is very much still being contain under the down trend line channel, I would put a stop above 14.35, anything beyond this could be bullish for silver and thus we need to sit back and wait for a higher level short

lets revisit the daily chart, while like someone said before, a break below 67 would confirm a huge trend change, but at the same time look at it this way,

stoch/mach are both crossed over and is now in negative divergence territory. if and when oil does roll below 67, the weekly chart divergence is even more obvious.

this could very well be similar to when oil first gather sudden strength and made a last ditch rally from 67 to 73 in late june, only to top out as a higher divergence double top.

my max upside expecation is about 75-78, notice the wave III run from 45- 73 did not offer any big pull backs? this is more apparent of what a wave III looks like as it is usually the longest of the 5 waves as well as the strongest. but look at the run from 58 to 75, there is already 3 some what significant drops. that is because if you study the last wave 5 of an EW structure, you will know that the wave 5 are usually emotional traders chasing the wind, so price will find it very hard to sustain at such level, and ever inch higher will be met with alot of selling pressure. so unless suddenly the world is depleted in oil, or a world war 3 breaks out, technically I expect we are near a top rather than a bottom. the last 15 dollar drop was really the big players unloading, so now any price above 70 will be met with selling.

also the gap that needs to be filled between 67-70 oil.

the MACD is isn't making new lows, thats good, right??

SilverRex

I bought NG at 2.60 myself, just a small play to catch a bounce to about 3 dollars.

as for dollar, it crashed right down to a up trend line between 77.44 to 77.75, and remember the weekly 77.86 is important? well so far price is holding above this.

imo I would believe this is the last support, if 77.86 gives away, I think we will see 77.44 or possible lower

yes this would mean oil and gold will rise further.

but wait a moment first. look at the big dollar sell off and euro rally.

isnt gold and oil suppose to break new grounds? its funny how oil only moved about alittle over 2 dollars and gold about 7 dollars. if you ask me that is just very weak imo

i cant wait when the dollar final begins a trending rise out of this funk, the drop would be fast and furious.

we'll see what happens over night. but my expecation for now is to look for a higher level short for oil and gold, and NG Im expecting a little rally after making a 7 year low today with the sept contract that I think just expired

yeah looks like a positive divergence if price breaks above 11.60, also notice how the current bottoming looks similar to back in early july when it made a similar bottoming process, then shot up?

im expecting some thing similar to unfold

for NG

it mostly traded in a form or a 3 wave structure ABC and XYZ

therefore I am expecting NG to rally a bit in a 3 wave pattern of its own back up.

not ruling out it can dip a bit lower for a smaller intraday divergence before the bounce. unless it can break today's high then we know it has started
