Same here except I have one position left of HGD at 4.79 that I want to get rid of and make a few dollars on just doesn't seem to be happening. Markets somehow are staying afloat no matter what the news is...

the USD is breaking out as expected, however oil is still sitting at the edge which could go either way.
DOW is approaching a significant resistance at 11000
while at this point in time, I cant say for sure if this is THE top, but none the less it should be A top
cycle count points to first week of April as a high in some thing, would that be stocks? oil? USD?
I'll remain on the side line for now on stocks, if you must play, buy USD short term play

dollar is moving along very well on its wave 5 of (I)
looking at the DOW, it appears it is about ready to roll over hard, with price hitting just under 11k at 10950
I believe we may have A top in place, how this will turn into THE top remians to be seen but we will visit that idea once it begins to give us some counts to the down side.

going to throw up the monthly chart for euro, why? I think euro gives us a much clearer picture than of the USDX
look how obvious the abc correction is unfolding, unfortunately its nearly certain that euro is headed to 1.28-1.30 area before finding A bottom. the scary thing is, the massive H*S that is on the radar if the neckline around 1.2700 is broken to the down side, just the H&S target alone would push euro below par with the US dollar, and the fact that if this is a major wave III decline, it cannot be less than major wave I which gave us 1.6-1.23
truely some big movements ahead of us.
however the biggest signal for me is the 10/20 EMA on the monthly chart has now crossed over, if you think this is big, think bigger.

ok
right now it appears the dollar has just finished a sub wave iii peak and is on a retracement move. while I only expect it to touch off between 81-81.2 in 3 wave patterns. please be aware of the importance of holding above 81. If we going to have any more upside, price needs to sustain above 81, in the event that it does not, then the current rise to 82.20 may have been still part of a larger correction that will take it back down to below 79.50
remember when it rallied off 79.50 I suggested it only met the bare mininum retracement factor, there for it is very possible this can still occur.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar032910.jpg
with the dollar caught between its head and tail, oil isnt too fun to look at either. while a 5 wave pattern could be spotted, my expecation remains to the down side, but the dollar is to suddenly sink further as an alternate count, then that isnt going to do oil bears any good at all.
in the short term I expect oil to find a footing between 74.50-78 area, if your shorting, its best to move your stop if you've shorted above 80+
the longer oil stays above 80, a chance of a oil break out could still be in play. We could very well be at the peak of a fallout or at the beginning of a major breakout. So caution is advised for shorting oil without stops
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil032910.jpg
and finally for gold, higher level still looks bearish, with a mini H&S break down, it only furthers the down side possibility. unless of course all of this recent jitter is telling us gold still needs to rally a bit higher before falling.
for bears, gold will need to take out the current red up trendline just under 1070 to confirm trend. bulls will have a difficult hill to climb as it needs to take out both 1140 and 1160 highs to turn this around, but even doing so still poses great risk (remember july 2008?) it broke out technically looking bullish only to collasp into a wave III sell off
Now with my bearish views, I have to reminder everyone I do not recommend selling your physicals. as I believe just like everyone else much higher gold prices is ahead of us and not behind us, but with the nature and characteristic of gold, it can go either way very quickly. I also do not believe in short gold either. The only thing I'll do is keep some ammo aside and if gold does drop, look to pick them up along the way and add to your position.

quick alert.
the 81 area has been broken twice imo, this may be a sign that then current run up to 82.2 may be part of a larger correction and thus I now expect the dollar to fall back towards 79.5 - Caution is advised. yes this would push oil/gold higher in the short term anyways
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar033110.jpg
while I hate to say this but oil's abc correction towards 75-78 didnt pan out perfectly, it made the double dip at 79 instead. May be a bullish sign
while depending on what contract month pricing you use, key are should be near 85.05 however which this kind of structure, oil may be headed higher.
either sit on the side line or begin to think long short term.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil033110.jpg
this may be a good time to try hnd.to (NG) as it is heavily oversold and if oil breaks out, it should lift NG for a bounce

watch gold at 1131, if we take this out, this could turn gold bullish in the short term. while over all I still look at gold in the bearish direction. the more gold defys my expecation the more I may soon change my tone but for now watch if price pushes above the previous broken neckline which is a bullish signal if we dont get a sharp drop immediate this morning, expect bullish momentum to mount

I bought some HRG.TO today at 0.69 - they were supposed to release their 2009 financial results today but need until April 15, 2010. I don't know what to make of the extended deadline - their results from the unaudited results that they posted look good, but the delay may mean that there's something underlying that they're not telling their shareholders.
I was also thinking about buying some BKX.TO - close at $2.53 today with five straight down days. I think at its current price, it is undervalued by a bit.
Is anybody holding these two companies?

as I suggested last week, once the dollar broke the 81 support, the pattern was beginning to feel like the dollar is simply onto a larger wave iv correction as first thought. my current expecation is to have the dollar eventually fall back to some where near or below 79.50 but no lower than 78.50 before a 5th wave advance. as you can clearly see as well, the less probably alternate count has it that we indeed achieve wave v to complete our first major wave {I} then this would be potentially a much larger wave {II} correction that could span for weeks. Either way, dollar remains bullish imo trend is up, current move is corrective
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar040510.jpg
and for oil, last week I revised my count from being bearish to being bullish, and thankfully the call was correct. as you can see oil continues to climb higher and higher. taking out the previous top near 84 and also the 85.05 resistance. While oil is now bullish imo, any fall back near 83 would be a good pick up. short term oil should find its way towards the next over head resistance and fibo target around 90. the alt count towards a lower low under 79 would only hold true if oil is unable to sustain above 81.75
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil040510.jpg
and finally for gold, im still holding out my bearish views, but short term gold appears bullish, as I suggest last week, once gold takes out the last neckline which it did and retested it. gold should be on its way to and above 1160, however will this translate into a parabolic move? those who held physical gold will be more than happy to see it unfold that way. For myself, I'll probably be convince gold is ready to make higher highs if it can take out 1190, but until then my expecation remains bearish on the upper level and bullish on the lower level.

just a quick nib at Natural Gas
a while back months ago? had played NG from mid 4s to mid 7s NG only exceeded my expecation to the upside by going to mid 9s.
now with oil turning bullish, we may have another good trade coming.
looking at the chart, the bullish engulfing pattern (closing above the high of previous 4 days) May have the bottom in place. Again I am going to use the same thing to guage a good target and that is the 9 dollar area gap lefted a while ago.
no matter how you dice it, its good to start a postion around here

I mean with Canada talking about raising rates this summer, have the US made the same decision?

right now the dollar has risen far enough, any more upside would begin to make me think the bulls are back in charge.
while over all trend remains up, I did not expect the dollar to rally so soon. Looking at the latest run up, its currently meeting right at the previous broken neckline, for the moment I still expect the dollar to turn back down for a lower low. But if the dollar surges above 81.70 and maintains above it by turning it into a support then I might have to call the bull trend resuming immediately, other wise still expecting a dive towards 80 and below
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar040610.jpg
as for oil, while we are flerting near 87, based on price projection and EW targets, oil should at least get to about 90-92 imo, that would mean any significant dip towards 84 would be a good pick up

Chartstation doesn't have a NG function, you can use this (http://www.futurespros.com/energies/natural-gas?smlID=10504&page=chart&sym=NGk0&type=CANDLE&volume=1&studies=MACD;SRSI;EXP;) and draw your own trend lines. It just finished filling in a gap from September, if it breaks below the $4 level again there isn't much support until $3-3.5

ok while I expected the dollar to put in a bit of a countertrend rally , I didnt expect it to be so persistant, I still expect the dollar to find a top then make another dive towards 79.50
since we are not in what appears to be a sharp ascending wedge, it looks corrective and terminal. wait for a break below the neckline before entering short otherwise stay clear of being longs until the movement becomes clear
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar040810.jpg
as I expected after oil punching thru 84 and 85, we are in a bit of a correction. The most likely target is to land some where near 83-84, I'll open up a long position here with stops below 81.75
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil040810.jpg
and gold has been moving along according to plan, ever since breaking above 1125, we are about half way there in this latest up move. If you did jump on the gold rally near 1125, then hold it for one more thrust above 1160

going to throw up the $natgas chart here, looking at the one shown on stockcharts.com it appears NG has just landed a retest of the previous broken neckline. If NG had indeed bottom in aug 2009, then what we are looking at here is simply a 3 wave correction that once it ends should begin a healthy up leg above 6
always trade with your own risk, but that is my thoughts anyways. I've always expected a drop back down to under 4 for quite some time, now that we've met our targets, I believe its time to go long again.

I started out with 2000. Realized that it was utterly pathetic. When shit don't go your way and you need to buy more shares to average down cost theres no more ammo left.
I personally feel that having anywhere between 10-20k is the way to go. But everyone has to start some where, and with the 1500 entry point its a good way to learn and understand how trading works.

Last friday was indeed very good to us, while some may have panic with the rising dollar, none the less it was correctional, and thus the expecation that it had to fall towards 79.50 had fulfilled nearly the the tee at the beginning this week.
My current count suggest we have completed a 5 wave UP for the dollar in EW terms, this could either just be the 1st major Leg up wave one or it can also just be a wave A, either way the dollar is due for a semi correction. But based on time frame, you would think this correction should last a bit longer, so my eyes are still set for a lower low (below 79.50) to complete this correction. However with the huge gap down to start the week, look for price to fill the gap just under 81 then back down she goes.
an alt count that the correction has just finished could also be a possibility but until i see price surging upwards and take out 81.75, I'll stick to my current call.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar041210.jpg
my expecation in oil dropped towards 84 after flerting with 87 has also surprisingly came true. so the current view is that once oil finds a bottom some where between 83-84 area we should take off towards a short term target of 90 and a medium target of 95 oil. the only alt count is if 83 does not hold then I would see the current move ment simply as a larger wave ii correction not finished pointing us down towards 78, either way my view for oil has now turned bullish over all. look for opportunities to go long.
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/oil041210.jpg
and finally for gold, with the dollar and oil play moving so well within my forecast, gold too join the fry, every since breakout above 1125 I recommended bulls to hit at least 1160 which we have got, gold is current bullish and in the lower level charts I suggest we should soon move into a sub wave iv correction with at least one more thurst to the upside above 1170.
Can I possibly turn bullish on gold? like oil, I dont see why not, however it hasnt really made strides enough for me to do so just yet. I still expect gold to hit a ceiling some where between 1169-1194 before dropping like a rock. But I dont recommend shorting either, its the one play where gold can really kill you, I always recommend picking up physical gold and buy if it does drop, I still see no matter how bearish gold is in the short or medium term, the longer term calls for much higher gold prices.
on the flip side if gold takes out 1194, then it may have just put away 1000 gold for good. but until then, let see how the gold bears during the crisis month of May. Major market indices are due for a larger correction.

ok a quick shot at oil, we have finally arrived at the point where oil either has to make a rally from here to higher highs or a crash to lower lows towards 78
if my view is a weak US dollar in the short term, then oil should begin to climb towards 90+

Oil & the market are headed south. Looked at the TSX & NYSE this morning and both RSI's were showing overbought conditions. I can see a big correction coming if Q1 earnings don't meet expectations...

Any ideas on how far HOU is going to drop before heading back up? Will it touch 9.0 or lower you think?

well you can call this a mid week update. but so far things have been moving quite well.
Starting with the dollar, as you can see on the higher level, we are still in a major wave II correction targeting some where under 79.50 while initially my thoughts were that the dollar was after filling the gap left just under 81, it could very well be the previous broken neckline that is forcing price to to tread lower. A retest if you will. Again we will have to see how the waves unfold. When we finally begin major wave III or C north, thats when the market should roll over
http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk118/genmaster/dollar041410.jpg
And for oil, as I posted recently, we were at the stage of either a bounce or break, it looks like we got our bounce and oil bull continues. With the swing point low at 82.50 I will continue to use the 81.75-82.50 as a good stop loss and now expect oil to make another good rally towards 90-95 area. we will take a pause if the current up trend line breaks but until then, expect oil bull to be right back at it.

finally gold, also moving quite nicely, the wave iv correction was realized and similar to oil, it should begin the final assault towards 1190s, as QuadG showed, the similarities between now and what happen in early 2008 is hard to ignore. unless gold breaks above 1194 or create a new high, I will still expect a significant drop towards this summer. current make or break to bring the bears back is around 1128 so if your going long. set your stops below here.

Do some research on IAE.v. They have a clean balance sheet, increasing production from the North Sea, and are currently awaiting results from a drill stem test on one of their discoveries. Results from the test should be out this week or next.

Did anyone see APV.TO today??? holy smoke, a tidy 185% gain. I used to trade this stock last summer, but things looked dismal. Too bad I got out of that one.... o well

ok a quick note on the dollar, what I thought was further weakness on the dollar appears to struggle, it looks like it does want to fill the gap after all
my current expecation is still short term dollar bearish but anticipate gap to be filled slightly higher then back down.
but my over all trend for the dollar remains up. this correction could very well end sooner than we thought if it does not head lower soon. If it some how takes out 81.40 then I may be convince to speed up my view that the dollar bulls have resumed.
Until then, I still expect a weaker dollar before heading higher though.

hmm
a quick revise with the surprising GS news this morning, this Could be a catalyst for an early drop or top we've been waiting for.
looking at the sudden collasp of gold, its very impulsive, if the 1128 doesnt hold then watch out below, this would finish our expected rise above 1160 (remember early 2008?)
also did not cyclist call a top april 19th? dam close if you ask me.

Same thing with the dollar, with the news and sudden collasp, dollar could as I posted eariler, completed the wave II correction and in such, the next leg up would mean much higher dollar as we pull back significantly into the summer months.

with such a sharp drop today, looking at the over all trend, DOW could have completed its first 5 waves up
for the time being, confirmation require price to take out about 10825. once that is done, we should begin a multi month decline towards 9000 imo
negative divergence on stoch spotted, any rise from here will continue to struggle
