What's that about selling/fear and buying/greed or some other random cliche that you quoted? The problem with cliche's is that they are a little too simplistic and impossible to really follow aren't they? :)

What does unrest in Libya have to do with the TSX? Oil and gold can go up, but how does it effect say, TD or NA? It's pretty ridiculous how the market moves due to this 'unrest', but I think of them as buying opportunities.

When it's raining gold, you don't hold out a thimble, you hold out a KFC bucket. (Warren Moon said, oops, I mean Warren Buffet) :)

Like I said before, this is the HARDEST thing I've ever done in my life. I have 2 degrees, run a business, have a family, raised 2 kids.

Easy stuff. This, THIS is hard and therefore just more fun and more rewarding.

Makes sense. The global economy can't handle higher oil prices anyway. Well based on analysts calling for another recession if they hit the $120 range. Higher inflation, higher interest rates, slows growth etc. Again that's what she said lol but I guess we'll see if we hit $100 first. :nut:

My prediction is the market will give a huge gap up or a couple of nice up days to give the uptrenders some 'confirmation' that uptrend is still in tact... And then just crush the market and sell it down a couple hundred points.

Probably alot of people will be buying this 'dip', and will feel like they are sitting pretty when market shoots back up for a little bit.

If we don't merge with the Brits, I say 30K easy in 10 years. Easy. If we do merge, then I have doubts
(market dilution). Because in 10 years our oil is going to keep up rocketing forward. Our dollar will be the new pound/euro and we will trade on par with them (believe it!).

The amount of resources that are coming on line/developed is just nuts. Even if we hit a cyclical commodity bear (we are looong over due!), we should power through with oil, potash, nat. gas (very undervalued!) etc etc.

Basically, there is no safer, capitalistic friendly, more resource rich country in the world. GO CANADA! :) I believed this 20 years ago, and I still believe now and looking ahead 20 years.

The only downside to Canada is manpower and sadly brainpower. But this has it's own positive, the people that are here will be VERY well off. Canada went from being almost a 3rd world bankrupt country to a world wide powerhouse (we got recognition for it finally when the US banks collapsed). There are over 800+ US Banks 'in danger' and ready to be federalized in 24 hours.

Hey Max, I just realized something looking at the futures this morning...

...you wanted to short the market right? Well, by being LONG the TSX, we are actually 'short' the rest of the world market. Basically, oil/gold surges and it puts a crimp into everyone else's market, except the TSX (it surges).

Like you said, this game is hard

That's the thing about the TSX, it's so resource driven and high commodity prices especially oil will fuck everyone else. If it screws everyone else, higher inflation, raising rates, slows growth, doesn't that come back and hit Canada in trade?

If anything I should have went inverse on the SP500 and other global indexes haha

But wait, oil and gold has been tamed today. It's the financial sector shooting up! Our banks are stars today, CIBC and NA killed it in their earnings.

The beauty of the TSX is that either you're in energy/resources or Financials. There's not really much else to buy (LLL! And Tim Hortons, RIM?, CTire?). If anyone can recommend something, I'm ears!

Are there options availbale for HOU/HOD? I don't think that there are any? They are probably horrid since they would be traded on the Montreal Exchange. The volume just is not there on that exchange.

I don't like the straddle too much since the priemuim is so high for the options. Strangle all the way. Especially since we have had so much volatility of late.

What is your guys under valued mineral play? I like GOZ. It's 1.00, market cap of 75 Million, $.10 cash on hand, $45 Mill Revenue, 40K OZ of gold/year.

Show me something with better fundamentals (market cap of less than 100 Million). I like buying undervalued companies and waiting instead of trying to catch up when they run away.

I think everyone has Encana in their RRSP's in one way or another, so a NG break out would benefit everyone. And Alberta is run on NG, the real boom occurred when NG went parabolic.

edit; GOZ will release it's AUDITED 2011 results after the close today. What microcap company does that? I believe in fundamentals and accountability (and mispriced assets!) :) GOZ is all three, I have yet to find another stock this year that hits all 3 of those points these past few months.

Anyone have? :) Serve it up!!

I have goz, but bought way too high so hoping these earnings boost it enough for me to get out and then rebuy at a lower pprice!

Yes I'm holding PNA and AAA. It's sitting in the TFSA so I'm just going to keep it and maybe one day it'll hit $10

BKT is about to start drilling. Just had a conversaion with CEO and said in coming weeks to start drill program. Super low share count and market cap. Based on spec and where CAN currently is, I expect it to run big time on hype alone.

I have given some updates and that is holding for gold for 17xx and silver 50

by 2012 EW count suggest we shall see gold at 2050 and silver 50-100 dollars as our final parabolic move.

the very very short term, it may pull back, but silver HAS entered a phase transition where it is now trading above a higher rising trend channel, as long as 31.4x holds, silver remains bullish

90-100 dollar oil may become the normal thru out 2011, I still expect we could see it touch 126 this year, but the magnet will be 100 oil, could straddle this range for quite some time before the next transitional rise into a new trading range. Any pop could be sold off immediately for profit taking.

NG while for the longest time has been quite disappointing, because it took out a important critical support and thus lost its steam, but count suggest it is making 1 final wave down and I suspect the area between 3.7-3.8 will be a very solid entry point since it now looks like a very large reverse H&S (confirmation trend is underway requires NG to close above 4.25 (it came close touching off 4.24 last week)
