So what are everyone's thoughts about what is going to happen in the coming year?

I think this is going to be another odd/fluctuating year in the markets. IMHO the money will continue to move to Uranium, Gold, and perhaps more of the stable high yielding power co's. I think Oil will hold in the $60 mark, perhaps moving up to around $65, and the US dollar will feel downward pressure.

My picks for 2007 are:

GNY
NT
EP.UN
U
IMX

All four of those are larger holdings (except maybe GNY).... not penny stocks. IMX is the value pick.

ADD and GCE are on my watch for penny like stocks....

Mckenzie

ASX
URA
PLE
TRR

Those are my picks for the year...should have tremendous potential given the stages that each are at right now.

ASX- Assays coming soon and deep drilling program this year
URA- Drilling and Assays coming soon, further exploration of many many properties
PLE- Drilling coming soon after completion of IP Survey
TRR- Huge driling program under way and assays

RX_EVOLV
01-05-2007, 10:04 AM
mine are :

ASX - check-assay and drilling program, with rumors of buy out or J.V.
PLE- Drilling on the Peru property
AUN- Mill going into production within the a month or two with all the ore stockpiled ready for processing and already have a buyer lined up for Cooper.
NSM- Crown pillar approval should be completed any time now so it can go into production + Deep drill result

liquid1010

So it looks like your guys stock picks are all pretty heavily focused then.......

As for ASX... I'm holding long as well. They had that blip up to 2.40ish earlier in the week... but if the assays come out well it'll be a good 2007.

Riskier plays, hoping for big $$$
ASX
TRR
BIM
CBM

Consistent gainers that should have steady growth ahead.

Still holding URA. Tough to watch it bleed (along with everything) but nothing has changed with the company....I guess if you are a trader than you are likely concerned about short-term corrections but people in for the long haul who understand volatile times take their emotions out of the market place and walk away from the computer on days like this.

Either that or they buy buy buy because its a yard sale! (If you have the cheddar obviously).

Keep your chins up people...corrections are a normal part of the market.

That is exactly what we are doing..putting everything we have into the underpriced market. It will be good some day.

I tend to find 'buy and holders' have more emotional attatchments to stocks in the market then trader's...

A buy and hold strategy doesn't always work out as planned.

Normal correction the run up in december was crazy if you all remember and like most of you have said before as well as myself i would rather have a correction now than head to higher highs than keep going until it all comes crashing down.

Wait a week or two and everything will be back to where it was end of december.

I might pick up some more PTU shares and CXX shares.

Hah Apple gets sued and their stock price goes up :dunno: Looks like people are really liking the new iphone.

True...especially at the price it is at right now ~$0.50.

PLE, I put a sell on it a couple weeks ago @.68 and didn't remember. Bought at .60. So I was kinda bummed that I didn't change that sell order as it went up another 0.07. Oh well, still made just under $600.

IMO there won't be anything to hold PLE at the current price. it'll probably just trend back down to the $0.50s until the drilling, then boom!

Are you guys pretty with e-Trade's speed and reliability etc?
What do you do, cut them a cheque for $50k to set up?

I use TD now. Not bad but under $1 stocks cost hight commission.

djayz
01-25-2007, 09:15 PM
I just switched from TD to E-Trade...just get the application form from etrade and fill that out and then get a transfer form from etrade and fill that out. Then you attach your statement from td and what you want to transfer and they do it all. It took about 1 week to get my account with etrade with everything in it and my td account was still fully functional until everything was switched over.

So far i havent made any trades with etrade as im getting used to the layout of things and figuring out where things are but it seems like a good place to be.

Yeah, I am holding. I averaged down and am even at $0.23.

No comment about the news from PTU today Djayz?? Joint venture with Cameco!! Day high of 1.46 :)

Do you have to liquidate all of your holdings and then transfer funds over to e-trade, or are your all of your shares transfered over? Thinking about switching from Action direct. Can you put money to your e-trade account from your bank accounts a vice-versa? TIA

troyl I just got up haha didnt get to see any market action today but joint venture with cameco sounds good no complaints from me. As for switching to etrade you just get a transfer form and they move everything over the way it is. No need to liquidate and buy again in etrade. And yes you can transfer funds from your bank account into etrade...theres a form for that too.

bigbadboss101 your still holding some pretty good stocks so i wouldnt be worried too much.

Telus, General Electric, Microsoft, Rogers Communications, and a couple of bank stocks (e.g. BNS, RY). They're what I consider the backbone of my portfolio, and I've held all except GE for many years now.

I normally wouldn't classify RIM as a non high risk stock, but it is a sentimental favourite of mine...been in and out of it many times over the years and have made a killing off of it -- more than I've made with any other single company.

PTU seems to be holding up strong in early trading. I was planning on selling but even a 10% pullback isnt so bad as long as it goes back up which im sure it will.

Btw anyone else here using etrade? There so many damn features and buttons im a little confused. And although my account is over 50000 my trade tier still shows 19.99 and when i go to make a huge trade like 10000 dollars worth it shows commission at $100.

Btw anyone else here using etrade? There so many damn features and buttons im a little confused. And although my account is over 50000 my trade tier still shows 19.99 and when i go to make a huge trade like 10000 dollars worth it shows commission at $100.

Etrade's getting a call from me because i thought flat rate meant any trade, any amount, any number of shares is 9.99.

I think you have to trade a certain number of times per month to reach 9.99. Call them, they will know.

I think I read $50,000 or x# of trades a month.

You have to learn patience. Good things take time.

hahaha, it's not a patience issue, just something about buying into a stock and then have it drop on you substantially right after purchase hahaha. But yeah, looks good. Brads the man!

Still Holding FAB? I have been holding since Mid-November. Should have sold at 0.46, thought the news would be better accepted by the market.
