Pipes are always a good place to put money.
Avoid ENB now as I think the market overreacted to the news. I jumped into them a month ago for a long term hold...but sold today. Got paid dividends on Monday and sold for a 18% gain today.
Transcanada, Keyera & Inter Pipeline would be my picks for long term holds right now.
Edit: 25,000th post, do I win a cookie!? This has to be the longest thread on beyond?

Sold IPL earlier last week for a 40% gain and veresen as well as Keyera. Was thinking of going back into Keyera and possibly Altagas?
Any opinion on ALA?

I think its a good buy at ~$40-42. At this point you can throw into any of the strong infa. companies and make some good profits through March 2015.

But But the world is ending because we built inventories and Iran cut demand and China isn't going to want any oil because they aren't going to grow anymore.
Can't wait until everything reverses next year and there is too little supply and over demand and Iran uses more lol.

Yeah they haven't done too hot. It looks like their North Sea assets need to be written down as well, which will only further hurt their value. Seemingly all over the place without a whole lot of direction. It doesn't help that they have no replacement for their current CEO.... expect another shift in direction after that, causing further problems, rinse, repeat.

Yeah i'm less inclined to jump in when oil has falled $2.50 a day for the past two days yet oil stocks are flat.
Although they were oversold to begin with, $2.50 drops in oil were tanking the market a month ago.
I'm sidelined for now. However I am still contemplating a position in the double bear future on oil for the short term.

Read at least 3-4 books about investing. Find 2-3 sectors that interest you. Research companies in these sectors. Invest it into 3-4 companies from each sector. Sit and wait.
Some books I enjoyed that relate to investing are;
The Intelligent Investor
Beating The Secret
Warren Buffets Shareholder Letters

everything is doing pretty good, but this is the extra kicker for RRX
Raging River Exploration Inc. achieved its exit guidance of 12,750 boe/d during the first two weeks of December. As a result of our continued success, we now expect fourth quarter 2014 production to be approximately 12,000 boe/d resulting in an increase to our average 2014 production guidance to 10,600 boe/d from 10,500 boe/d.
2014 has been a record year for Raging River, increasing production by approximately 5,000 boe/d and generating 66% production per share growth. This was accomplished without raising equity while spending our cash flow and slightly increasing the debt to trailing cash flow ratio to 0.8 times from 0.7 times.
The Company also materially expanded our drilling inventory through continued land acquisitions and methodical step-out drilling across our asset base. During 2014, we successfully tested 62 previously undrilled net sections significantly de-risking the future drilling associated with the Company's lands. Raging River has greater than 260 net sections of prospective Viking acreage of which 170 net sections have been tested with at least one horizontal Viking oil well.

Funny comparison of two dissimilar companies, RRX and PWT.
RRX, 2014 avg Production of 10,600 boe/d. Market Cap $1.3 Billion
PWT, avg production of 100,000 boe/d, market cap $1.3 Billion.
Obviously, there's a lot more to consider than production volumes, but I found this hilarious.
