They said in their AGM last week results mid this week. They also picked up additional acreage to fill out holes in their position. Im really hoping their plan was based on some good results coming in to pick land up for cheap....
Likely Tuesday or Wednesday results will be released.
FYI

Yes I heard that during the meeting, but did Garth not quote the results would be released mid-feb in his interview?
Seemed like sort of a red-flag for me, but I am erring on the side of caution as I had quite a bit dumped into the company.
Hopefully the results are good and they come this week, I'd consider a position after the news though..They seem to have themselves in a very good position.

So odd. I bought in at $0.32 after the company was brought up in this thread and I did further research. Could have jumped out when you did, made a tidy profit, and jumped right back in today at the same buy-in. :dunno: Results didn't look that bad either...

No clue how any thinks bbi results look okay. These are horrible results for expensive wells. Not even close to economic. I've yet to find an o&g company whose mgt is from Vancouver as anything decent. There's a reason so much land was still available.

Whitecap buys Beaumont
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/industry-news/energy-and-resources/whitecap-buys-beaumont-energy-for-517-million/article23527328/
Whitecap Resources Ltd. is buying Saskatchewan light oil producer Beaumont Energy Inc. for $517-million in cash and stock, taking advantage of a buyer’s market for energy assets as crude prices languish.
Whitecap is also issuing $110-million in equity, the latest in an unexpected rush of bought deals in the energy sector.
Including the assumption of $70.5-million in Beaumont’s debt, the total value of the deal is $587-million. It expands Whitecap’s operations in the Viking region of western Saskatchewan.
Under the transaction, Beaumont shareholders can take 0.4 of a Whitecap share, with an option to take cash up to a maximum of $103.4-million. The transaction pegs the value of Whitecap shares at $14.05 each.
Whitecap, led by CEO Grant Fagerheim, is one of a few companies often noted as having the assets and financial capability to weather the current oil price collapse and capitalize on weakness elsewhere in the sector.
Whitecap said it will add 3,700 barrels a day of production this year’s total average, lifting overall output by 10 per cent to 39,700. It is also expected to boost cash flow by 15 per cent to $473-million.
Under the bought deal, Whitecap is issuing 8.1-million subscription receipts at $13.50 each, which can be exchanged for shares once the deal is completed. The syndicate is led by National Bank Financial.
Some hope for some of the more beat up companies out there. If you can still get reasonable prices for good oil :dunno:

What does one have to do with the other. Beaumont had some very high quality Viking assets and is profitable at today's prices. The beat up companies are usually that way because their assets suck. In 95% of cases, if you're expecting a lot for your assets, you're just delusional.

I think what he means is there are quite a few battered companies that do have good assets but too much debt to handle right now. Things like that.

Im a bit wary of individual companies after a buddy bought NRI before earnings and one of its drugs didn't pass phase 2 clinicals and the stock halved pre market haha.
Although I have been following these ones
GUD
TRX
Both acquire companies but GUD is much larger. Both have doubled in the time I watched them meanwhile I lost money in oil and gas. Live and learn I suppose :banghead:
BavarianBeast

Yeah, they can be extremely volatile. ARIA was above $20 a share before the FDA pulled their only drug off the market causing the stock to tank to $2 a share. As soon as it was re-approved the stock jumped to about $4-5 and has had an insane amount of short interest since.
I used to day trade TRX before they went on the TSX Venture.
They are a solid company, I don't know why they aren't above a dollar yet. There was a point where I could make about 30% every single week on TRX. It had some crazy swing patterns.

PWT and LTS scare me. Its only a matter of time before they collapse.
My prediction - they cant make a debt repayment, stock drops to nothing - then they get bought out. (similar to I think that INA company that B^squared posted)
That being said - they swing like crazy and if you have the balls and timing there is money to be made!

Not a bad gamble - I'd short them down to their January lows if I did that play
In regards to Trican I considered making my own little basket of the following
Trican
Cal-Frac
Nabors
Precision
Savannah
Ensign
Trinidad
But if I do I think I will wait at least a month or two to see how low oil goes.... If it was a 1-2 year hold I think it would be great any time now but im more looking for 3-9 month hold so (if) oil goes to anywhere in the 30's id jump on board then

I don't think you can go wrong with either Trican or Calfrac. Trican has been beaten down more than Calfrac, but thats mostly due to them being a larger company with more overhead and smaller margins IMO. Both will make it through the downturn just fine, so I'd pick Trican myself. More upside.
I do think most of the research guys are picking Canyon over either of these though....haven't checked in a while though.

I got in after the recent uplist to the Nasdaq for 3.25. I think it will be 12-15 in a year from now. Not a bad price considering the 26:1 reverse split. It was up to .40ish (10.40 equivalent) back when it was on the penny exchange so I can see it back in this range

Earnings should be out tonight, and will look good. Very excited to see where we are at in a year or so. If it hits $20 I'll take everyone in this thread for dinner and rides in my new supercar LOL.
INA was a bit of a disappointment, I was hoping that .075 would break and run up to 9-10 cents. Oh well. I'll hang around for a bit. Kind of a fun play.
Niko resources (NKO) looks like another beat up stock that could jump 50%+ pretty easily in the next couple of months. Not sure if anybody here follows drilling in India, but reliance or BP could pick them up for lunch money.

Cramer tweets aren't any good. The market just typically reacts to them. I can't stand the guy what so ever. Just gets the company a lot more exposure, I know most people do not know what Solar3d is or what they're about, Jim has close to a million followers..
Looking forward to see what tomorrow brings :bigpimp:

Sure wish I got in on that train, when did it first get mentioned in here?
there was a 26:1 reverse split required to meet minimum price for their uplist to nasdaq, so .16 (penny stock exchange price) is actually equivalent to 4.16 nasdaq price. It's still a 25% which is good by all means, but not anywhere near 3100% :)
