There are ALWAYS downsides to investing period. Look at Uranium, where is the supply and demand? which companies are actually producing versus probable reserves? what is the use for Uranium?

So I bought into that huge volume spike on BWR (TSX) on Friday when I saw that Sprott was buying hundreds of thousands of shares. I was pleased to see that it continued to climb on big volume again today. I'm up about 9% in two trading days so I'm pretty happy. Anybody else in this one?

wtb make sure you odn't get 2 greedy with gbdx, she is ill tempered, it will gap to .014-0.016 range, and take a dip as soon as 200dma is reached. it will goto 0.01, and stay there for a week or so it is to go back up.

A reccesion maybe, but most likely a pullback. Look what happens when we reach all time highs, then we get a big down day like this. History has a tendency to repeat itself.

I didn't say it collapsed, I said it almost did.
Did you not look at the one day chart I posted for the Dow?
It fell almost 500 points instantly, when that happens it can cause a collapse in the market.
It wasn't a gradual drop it was like jumping off a cliff.

Haha I know I know. I was watching the futures all day. It was overdue IMO.
When the masses start to sell (and mechanical systems) it can cause large fluctuations, then the oversold guys come in and scrape it off the bottom.
I think we are heading lower, yes, but another 500 point drop tommorrow is unlikely. 500 in the next coming weeks? More likely.

Well for Canada it involves the relationship China and our Resources. Since resources are a HUGE part of that relationship, and since demand is supposedly going to trail off in China, our markets take a correction because we are heavily weighted in the performance of commodities.
That's my stab at fundamental investing

Oh, I know that China is big enough to impact the world....
the numbers just dont add up... I mean if any stock, fund, commodity etc gained 130% in a year, then pulled back 9%.... :dunno: wooptie doo.
What this signals to me is that people are jittery to the extreme. Why? I bet they are leveraged to death, took equity loans on houses on terrible advice from advisors etc... bit off more they can chew, so they are not able to ride the bumps, thus panicking and contributing to the sell off...:dunno:
My stab lol....

I'd have to agree Toma. People getting margin calls on their accounts, people taking gains, then that pushed everything lower and more people panic selling. It's like a snowball...

Profit taking. Whenever a peak is reach, people cash out. The word is China is trying to cool the market. So adjustment
Stock market is running as much on emotion as financial facts. A company can still make $4B on profit and price still drop because they didn't meet analyst's $4.1B estimate.
But good timing for people trying to top up RRSP tomorrow before deadline.

A pullback for now, which means take some profit and sit on cash until we stabilize. This may be more of a correction then we think, best to wait until its over before jumping in. IMO!
I'm gonna watch close... if she starts to slip under 12,000, I am gonna sell it all...

Days like this are really interesting, and I think we may be in for a multi-day decline.
Obviously this slide was caused by the fall in China, but I think that was just the crack that caused the damn to start to crumble. Looking at the DJIA, it's sitting at all time highs (until today), and the American Dollar is sitting at an extreme low to the Euro. The US trade deficit is brutal, and I think as many have mentioned the market is overbought. With the large decline of the US housing market over the past year, a lot of new money then flowed into the markets. Looking at the DJIA from Aug-06 to Feb-07, that's a serious increase. You put all these together and you end up with today :dunno:
Shanghai has been dancing around yesterdays close for 2 hours now... been up 2.5%, and down 1%... now right there....
Lets see 300 point gain on the Dow tomorrow

Low volume and no updates/news on the PP is beating the stock down. Ive been holding on since the 2.10 day thinking its going to pop again but no dice. I guess its too risky to sell now because im sure it will go up soon.
Lots of potential profit was lost in time waiting but I guess its a long term hold so the payoff will be better just holding.

Moving averages are lagging indicators. We could see a cross of the 50 under the 200, which is bearish. Support is at ~0.43, so its a low risk trade.

Ive been holding this since early last year when it was around $22 dollars and it is now my biggest loser. The way things are going with the weather and different sources of energy coming into the light I dont think this trust will see those prices for a long time.

I agree with you, but I'm hesitant right now with the market sliding the way it is. I'm also somewhat confused with the assays that they are pulling up. No Uranium yet, but traces of Gold and Silver.

hmm all the Asian index are up so far! tomorrow should be a nice rebound day for TSX. Might be a good day to cash out if you think the correction is not over.

I'm regretting not getting back into ASX last night, quite the bounce today. Up 15% already this morning....

Mckenzie, I'm with you on ASX... although it was already on the downslide when I got out at $2.20. Right now it's sitting at a lowly $1.80.
For fundamentals I watch ROBTV. You have to know what the crowd is thinking and then act accordingly.
