looking at Barrick gold today. we have two scenario that could unfold. with gold sitting on a key rising channel right now, the entire drop recently could be a deep wave 2 retrace since the 1240-1237 rise and so as long as it does not produce a lower low under 1240, there is a good chance it can bottom here.

which brings me to Barrick. I suspect we are close to a bounce soon, this bounce will either fulfill the reverse head and shoulder pattern which will target 28s in the coming weeks or (if gold heads lower and becomes more bearish) or this bounce will be simply a wave iv dead cat that will make one move lower towards the 18 in an expanding wedge formation.

either way I think is still bullish long term. I have bought back one abx position in the 21.50s, will add another if it hits the low 18s

then just hold until Feb/March 2017 for an intermediate cycle high/top

Sell order JDST $31.00
Buy order JNUG $9.90.

Let's see if it hits.

Edit: Changed order as bears taking over; key signal for me was it hitting the new high of the day.

Ended up selling JDST at $32.64 as my stop loss was hit.
Back into JNUG @ $9.25.

any caught the breakout in cooper this week? it broke out from a 7 year decline. I was told this is the most sensitive commodity that is signaling inflation. we could be at the beginning of a coming bubble in something... equities? oil again? silver?

We're in some kinda market twilight zone. Extremely low/negative interest rates, richly overvalued equities with almost zero growth, yet banks are tightening up lending practices. Market is very unbalanced and heading towards a deflationary environment which is a lot worse than inflation. Printing money will be the government's only way to get out of the next mess. :nut:

EDIT: CAD closely follows copper so if it rises so will our dollar.

with gold closing below 1275 and 1268 and this morning it is still trading below this, it is increasingly warning that further drop lies ahead. if gold does not quickly recover these level within today and monday, then gold will likely target the next support level near 1200. a drop like this will no doubt bring miners down with it gdx to 20

the market has been hot and the scenario where gold benefit is to see it pull back significantly thereby bringing the US dollar down with it as both the US dollar and equities market is moving in tandem.

might be good to hedge one's position using dust if 1243 is broken to the downside

I don't understand this strategy. Would this not be the same as just selling your JNUG position? (Assuming the $ value of your JNUG is the same as $ value of your JDST position)

Not really. If I sold JNUG for a loss, bought JDST, and things reversed for whatever reason, I could be screwed there.

But premarket made me realize there is still more room for gold to drop, so I'm just protecting myself until I believe gold has bottomed.

My worry right now is gold going below $1200

Yeah I guess it'd kinda be the same thing $ wise assuming I sell JDST when I think JNUG has bottomed for a buy-in. But having both gives me more flexibility. I personally think gold will bounce back, but I didn't want to regret not getting in JDST early for a good price.

learned my own lesson many times over during the last few significant drop to not ever go over more than 25% in my portfolio using leverage. while I lost some money with this down move, I am also quite comfortable with my current holdings... finally added another position to my mainstay with kinross making a new low.

was also able to reenter jnug lower

now we watch. technically there should be a dead cat bounce follow by 1 more drop perhaps to 1190-1200.

however do watch the miners and while it suddenly is recovering strongly. if for what ever reason it can close green, then implication is that this was more like a real shake out before a big rally

Oversold bounce happening right now in bull miners. Healthy consolidation for bears before higher highs?

Stop loss in place for JDST to protect profits.

Edit: I strongly believe JDST will hit higher highs before the end of today. Although, it is Friday and there could be profit taking during the last hour of trading today. I'm planning to sell before the weekend to protect profits myself. I'll add +1000 shares into JNUG if it hits $6.25 with lots of ammo left over to average down if required (in 1000 share increments).

gdxj has finally filled the june gap, never thought it was possible, but it did. with a confluence of support, it has so far bounced off the down channel line. one thing to note, when RSI gets into extreme oversold (green circles) when it begins to turn back up, it always puts in at least a good 10% run up, even if she falls again after.

therefore I conclude gdxj will find its way back to 37-38 even if she heads a bit lower in the next few days.

I have one jnug position in the 7s, will add one more if I see gdx hit 20 or below

gold looks like it is in a invert head and shoulder pattern. I think (at your own risk) that if this pattern fulfills to the upside, gold should move back into the 40s, then fall to a lower low

the aggressive bullish scenario is to see gold move back above 1237 and to never break below it again.

Nice bounce off of $1220 just now. Trying to see if that'll hold or if JDST will surpass $41 before end of the day. I don't want to be greedy and likely going to let it go once it hits 41 before selloff into the weekend.

i'm keeping ACB. i think the reason for going sideways is the amount of outstanding private placement shares which can be exercised. i think there were some in october/september and another batch in december. market cap wise it is not as overvalued as CGC and from my research their product is high quality. they have some issues with meeting demand, but their delivery is top-notch in terms of speed.

then again, i've been trying to swing ACB all along. so i'll probably be out on the next swing up

Great start for JNUG. I set a trailing stop to lock in profits. We'll see if it bounces off yesterday's high or breaks through.

edit: looks like I had ok timing. Got stopped out shortly after I put the order in. Now I have to figure out which side I want to be on for reentry.

looking at gdx, the obvious negative divergence which started the entire correction back in July is now giving us a positive divergence potentially signaling a bottom.

while MACD has not reclosed to the upside, you can see that if gdx continues to move sideways or higher, it will begin to form the divergence.

RSI has finally lifted out of oversold territory. and we also had a swing low when price broke yesterday's high.

EW count suggest there is suppose to be one more sharp sell off to a final low under 20?

and this bounce is suppose to go no higher than mid 22s. If gdx reaches as high as 23+, then the bottom may be sealed.

if miners do turn back down for that final wave v of C of II towards 20 and under, I think it would be the last opportunity to load up

No one really knows if gold is headed under 1k or not as some suggest we are still in a bear market, and the rise this year is nothing more than a bear market rally. Yet, from a few sources that I trust, even if this is a giant bear market rally, I think gold will still have a chance to test the 1500 price resistance. the rise from 1046-1375 is merely wave A, we are in a wave B decline, follow by one last thrust wave C above 1375+

11-15-2016, 11:48 AM
this is my own guess. want to see gold make another 5 waves higher to the 1240-1250 area then one last drop.

bullish alt count is that the bottom was struct at 1211 yesterday. and wave 3 is about to start, if this is true then if price does break above 1232, it has to turn it into support

I would be interested to hear what other pot stock investors exit plans are.

My understanding is that spring 2017 fed will release prelim. guidelines for legalization. Spring 2018 will be fully legalized across Canada.

My initial plan was to hold until it has been legalized and then sell. I bought prior to Justin being elected.

I definitely need an exit strategy.

Right now I have positions in APH, OGI, ACB, and SL. Basically the same way I bet at the horse races.

For SL, I am convinced that they will have a bump if/when they jump from CNSX to CVE... I am going to hold that position into the mid $2 if i'm lucky

APH, based on their current market cap, I'm not sure how much more room to grow there is. Looking to exit short to mid term

ACB, I feel there is more upside here based on their expansion plans and production targets. I will be holding this stock.

OGI, again, not sure how much more upside there is on this one. Look to exit short to mid term.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Wish I kept some real money in it, but a win is a win.

Wish I left my full BLO position alone... was too tempting to start selling after holding it for two years when it first started to move in October... sold 20k shares, the 11k I sold at $0.30 is the hardest to think about

gold technically did produce a higher high at 1233, though i was expecting a backtest of 1240.

felt naked and bought back jnug at 7.3 yesterday and sold 8.3 near the end of the day.

will try again, bought 1 position at 7.61

if 1233 was the wave 4 top and miners will begin to hunt the new low now, I will just add from here every 15-20% down.

otherwise I will see if miners still has legs to make another run from here.

also, if the resistance on gdxj 38.76 is broke to the upside without making a lower low, then the low on Nov 10th would have been it.

I flipped my JNUG to JDST a little bit ago, keeping a pretty tight trailing stop on it. If it loses steam, I'm planning to switch back to JNUG.

well did bte just gave us a breakout buy signal? RSI also broke out from it's trendline.

In a way this can technically be viewed as rule of Ro4 breakout. as long as price does not reclose below 5, there is a good chance we will see a sub wave 3 move taking bte back to the 6-7 dollar range.

I'm with BMO, had sells at 17 ready both times but it got halted both times then tanked to 13 and now tanked again to 13.

Long for now until another day plays out. Should be interesting

Look at the last couple of weeks for Twer stock. I've been up and down, but ultimately losing thousands. :(

Not cut out for this investing game.

Fucking webbroker.

Put a trailing stop on my JDST position. Price dipped, order filled, protected profits. No big deal.

Check my holdings a few minutes later, lo and behold - JDST still sitting in there, now losing. My webbroker shows a filled sell order, but also shows the holdings sitting in my account. :banghead:

Not in my case, as it actually showed the stop order as "Rejected" if you opened it.

There is no reason for the order to be rejected, but I placed the order and left my desk, so I knew they'd just tell me it was my job to check the order status.

Yours sounds worse.

Finally got through. Turns out the order was filled as indicated, and it was showing a false display in my holdings interface. Nice to know the order executed as per my settings, a little frustrated now though, as I would have bought again when JDST dipped, if I knew I actually had sold.

Oh well, now I know for next time.

Anyone looking for an entry into Sil.V?

SilverRex
11-16-2016, 01:53 PM
gdx as you can see technically you can say it has backtested the previous breakout neckline. and the 61% fib level is at 19.8

we could still see one more drive to a lower low under 20, but an alt count also suggest it is entirely possible the bottom may have been struct due to the massive volume detected on Jnug a few days back/

just get ready.

when both miners and gold tanked shortly after Trump won the election, I think it was big money driving all the bulls out as well as them unwinding their shorts. I still believe Trump is great for gold.

also it is very likely that the Fed will raise rates in December, so dejavu 2016 all over again. if that is the case we should be witnessing a collaspe of the US dollar after the rate is hiked and gold back on a 5-6 month surge. just use 2016 as your 2017 road map and you get the idea

I will be a buyer if it can get back between the previous breakout of 1.5 and 1.8

61% retrace is at around 1.61

I was eyeing NDM.to for the last few weeks, every since it popped (breakout signal) from 1-1.39, I nearly pulled the trigger to buy when it dropped back to 1.00 (as low as 0.93)

then this week it jumped over 2 :banghead:

anyways opening a very small position at 1.66, will continue to scale in if she drops further
