Dollar
watching the 94.93 closely. if the dollar can break below this we may have ourselves the start of a new declining cycle which could fuel gold/PMs and even the stock market in general.

Good job on HEXO. Saw the CEO on BNN and how he was talking about the goal of being eventually acquired and a US exchange listing. I feel like he was pressured to respond based on the activist article saying how management needs to step up their game as the share price is low.
On the flip side APH and TRST ftw :)
Long term holding 50% APH as I love their direction and might take profits before legalization on the other half. Too good, $21+ today.

so gdx did finally give us a new low after what appears to be a 3 wave ABC up. I am taking a stab at Jnug this morning under 7.00 with the expectation that gold in the ST should at least give us a good bounce.

BRAZIL
not sure anyone pays attention but charting wise, the brazil market looks text book Elliot wave. Using EWZ as the leading indicator, you can see a perfect 5 wave up setup follow by a lengthy ABC down. then we have another mini leg up which I believe is sub wave 1 and now in the middle of a wave sub 2 correction. Once this correction ends I think Brazil will embark on a multi year up cycle exceeding the 2008 top. Not a bad play if anyone is looking for a longer term hold and diversification.

the stock market needs to hold the recent low and begin to climb now if there is any bullish tone left (melt up scenario) to continue. A lower low would kill the momentum and ring in a medium term intermediate degree decline that could bring it back to the June low

dollar
last week I mention the importance of dollar not breaking the 94.93 and if it did it would usher in a new cycle decline because as soon as it broke that level, it turned the structure corrective so it was a matter of time until a new drop begin. now it does look like it is about to test the August low. hopefully this will fuel all sectors including PM and cryptos

More so the coke I think. BNN hyped this up quite a bit. The uplist was discussed already but CEO was just vague about sometime in October. We aren't even sure if NYSE or NASDAQ yet.

Market really reminiscent of early 2000's. People with zero financial literacy are popping out of the woodwork bragging about returns on their MJ stocks. Only risk people are concerned about is the risk of missing out. :nut:
Shitty dot com stocks used to pop the same way. Buy in the morning check in the afternoon and it would be up 20% on a news article.

Little different though, as these companies produce a physical product. The path to market for rec is now well defined, these LP’s will essentially have exclusivity on production. Strength of market is already well defined with state legalization, only question left is what multiple can these companies support?

What's wrong with that? I know people who made fortunes from investing in tech companies in the late 90's early 2000s and holding them for 15+ years, take the Renerts with Apple for example.

Dot com companies sold physical product too and the idea was much more revolutionary. Most of those companies did not survive. MJ companies are basically growing grass. It can be profitable but it will be enormously competitive from day one. Perhaps a few companies will it make out on top but nobody knows who they will be, what kind of pricing power they'll have to pad margins, and the market for their product is overinflated. It's been around forever. People who don't use it won't become regular users just because its legal and sealed in a pretty package. Current valuations are mostly built on thin air.

ACB
3 weeks ago when ACB first completed 5 waves up I mention the correction back to the 7s, it had a text book style correction notching 1 penny just under the previous wave 4 low of 7.66 at 7.65, then proceeded to a break out which we are now in the heart of a powerful wave 3 rally which was expected. with this breakout. (if it is truly wave 3) it should not revisit 9.4 again. if it did, something will not be right technically speaking. so if you are in ACB you can place your stop under this and just let it run.
my personal feeling remains the same, the hype continues in this sector and the sell on news is when legalization completes in Oct then a major correction will take place.

ACB big picture
the expectation is that once ACB notches a new ATH and complete this series of 5 major waves, then we can anticipate a major topping with price to come back down into the 5s. For now the basic guide is a solid 5 waves, of course nothing stops it from being extended as typical bubble tops in the final phase can double within months, so scaling out slowly is the way to go.

with a clear positive divergence like that and price currently consolidating in some sort of flag or pennant formation. I do believe price is now ready to challenge the 29 area this week with top side potentially hitting the 31s if we already have 5 waves up off the low. I had a position in around mid 26s. so that should be a good stop zone for to ride this.

I sold today at a bit over 11. My rationale is that the market price on Friday was about 8$ and that's probably about what it was worth without an offer on the table. With the offer, it's going to stick to around $11 with some upward pressure like Bavarian Beast says, but also the possibility that the takeover doesn't materialize putting on some downwards pressure. I'm happy to take some profits and watch this one from the sidelines.

if gold infact has a real breakout this week, then I am also incline to expect gdx to make a move to challenge the 20-21 area. regardless this is only another major 3 wave correction with lower prices to come or a real move beings. the 20-21 area will be a major hurdle considering how many times it held as support over the past year. well what do you know, a new high then huge sell off. it was sell on news after all. which has always been the theme with the hype. However gold remains strong and if gold can still hit that targeted breakout move to 1260, it could turn gdx into a bullish 1-2, 1-2 count. for the being I would say the count looks neutral. and closing below 18.14 will be the final nail to confirm the more bearish ABC headed downwards.

Weed
now that the legalization is behind us, I continue to believe its buy on rumor and sell on news. the MJ sector should now begin a multi-month decline at the very least for a very significant correction. Until companies can begin to proof themselves with real profits, then the next mania phase will begin.
Now unless this sector surprises everyone and suddenly catches fire and makes a new high, then you may have an extended wave 3 of 5 of 5 occurring so this would be my alt count in green. however I am still leaning towards a major correction taking place and we just had our first 5 waves down for 1 of A. Yes a serious correction could come all the way back down to the previous major wave 3/4 range which is in the 6-18 zone. a typical wave 2 could easily break below 6 bucks if Elliot wave wins yet nothing is ever 100%.
my recommendation is to think for the long haul and save your cash for a better entry. if your still riding, I would start scaling out or taking profits off the table immediately during this counter wave 2 bounce up.

Couple reasons, they've got a ton of contracts where they will be able to recognize revenue on beginning in the new year. I think LNG is going to ramp up in Canada in the next short bit, firms will need sand? Chinese are buying our oil hand over fist. Management is facing a ton of pressure to purchase at these levels, my guess is the management team will start accumulating a ton of shares in the next few weeks.
It's definitely a bit of a crap shoot, but I think there is quite a bit of upside at these levels. I only allocated a 2% stake from my overall portfolio towards it around $2. Will hold until May..

Suncor and Pembina are both great short or long term plays right now. I prefer to keep them short term, buy on a dip and sell with a decent little profit, then rebuy on another dip.
Pembina made 300mil on their Redwater facility last year, they're forecasting 600mil going forward. Pembina is slightly sheltered from oil which is great with the way things have been.
Suncor is in a slump due to oil prices, but they are very well situated and will come out of things better than any of these other Canadian oil sands projects.
I already did a 2 day flip on these for 1000$ each a few days ago. I'm back in on Suncor as of last weeks slump.

I really feel like I should've done that with Cenovus. They hit up to 50% gain a couple times before dipping back to 15%. I'd be up a couple K if I'd done that, but I originally convinced myself to buy Cenovus long so I didn't want to deviate from the strategy.

What a depressing past couple of months. I keep thinking I should liquidate my stocks and buy a couple carrera GTs. Probably do better holding cars than stocks right now!

I feel your pain man. For what its worth, I've lost a tonne. Funny enough, I never invested much in stocks until the last year or so. I've always wasted money in cars. At least with cars I had something to show for it.

If you’re picking losers consistently... try hitting the sell button instead of the buy one

Sorry to hear VWEVO. Sucks that when you decided to get into the market, everything goes south. I've heard of numerous folks talking about their retirement funds going up in smoke this year, depressing times for a lot of people.
It's not that I'm picking losers consistently, it's just the losers have done a lot worse than my good picks. I've got a very diverse portfolio, but fuck the only gain I've really seen since September has been a short position I opened up on WEED and my position in Thompson Reuters...
Hard for me not to play the stock market as it's done well for me in the last 10 years, but this last quarter has just been a fucking slaughter.

Shiet, take a ride in the TTRS and all will be right in the world again
I kid, I kid, but losses can be a huge bummer.

That's the game I suppose. Win some, lose some. Can't always be sunshine and roses.
Cars do make everything better though.. :D:burnout:

Legit I looked at this as a strategy for trading. They say 90% of people lose money in the stock market, which means doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing should net a profit. Basically just short anything you get a tip on. So far I don't think there has been a single thing I could've lost on by doing this the last few years.

You can still panic sell shorts! But yeah... I think you confused an investing platform for a trading one... completely different strategies

Services are too risky given the expected low capital budgets next year. Would consider at ~$1.50.
