While gold is quite resilient and hasnt reached the ideal 1250 area, however gdxj/gdx has entered the buy zone for me. going to open a position in leverage this morning.

Also took a starting position in NIO in the 4.6x

edit: couldnt get Jung at 6.99, opened at 7.07 instead. Good enough for me. Will hold for a couple of months. Gold can still hit 1250 and forcing another wave lower for PM, may add another position the 6s. Looking for gold/pm to complete a intermediate cycle low leading into FOMC.

I am curious why you invested in them. Didn't they come out and say something like electric cars are not the future. I was invested in them and I pulled out after that, seems like they are just another pump-n-dump Chinese stock

NIO draws a lot of attention lately and with it being over sold, after watching it break a technical neckline headed for new lows (current price), I am expecting a good bounce to backtest the breakdown area in the 6s range. The first bounce are usually strong but each rally becomes weaker and interest would fade over time.

A similar story with Icon where I had sold all my position in the high 4s (after averaging down for months) then it was oversold to such a degree, a short covering what ever reason may be a good bounce would be a nice short term play so I got back in at 1.5 and 1.7 now will see how far this bounce can go.

now that we got the strong wave 3 down, it has reached my buy zone by back testing the previous wave 4 range and nearly the previous breakout line. I have started one position and if we do get one more wave lower I will add another position. We should start to see PMs out perform gold starting now, Looking for ICL (intermediate cycle) low to end between now and the next 1-2 weeks tops. Anticipating an explosive new up cycle for the next few months

The entry point into MEG would be after Q4 earnings since everyone had a bad Q4 and I expect it to dip a bit more. MEG shareholder rejection of the $8.50/share bid tells us the market expects MEG is worth north of that. MEG's price was $8.03 at close on Sept 28 before the bid announcement, so there is a good chance at a 40% gain depending on what the oil price does.

30% gain so far. Upgraded to $9 PT. We'll see what earning report says.

I hear you, but part of my DD is someone else's opinion, that I will quantify and further DD. These stocks are mentioned together quite often, and since I'm already in BABA thought it would be a good idea to gauge what the others thought of the comparability, or if they were vastly different and worth of dual investments.

looking like a strong start today. Possible sub wave 3 of i of III. 5.45 now needs to become major support if the start of this run is something big.

with a mini 5 waves up, we will now see if it can build on this. While I can completely expect one more wave lower, I will be watching the 30.60 area. If it manages to close above this, I would say the low is in.

Oil

it has been a long while since I last posted on oil. When oil topped around 75-76 the general correction was to retest the 58 zone (previous wave 3/4) however not only did the decline went steeper more importantly it took out the 51.x support. It is apparent that this is now a large ABC pattern 3 waves up follow by 3 waves down. The current move up should find a top and once a top is in, the opportunity lies in the short side for a chance to break the Dec low. similarly I am also expecting the stock market to find a top and begin a dramatic sell off this spring. Even if manages to hit another ATH. The real fun will begin after the next 20-30% decline. that would be the best time to position for the next major up cycle.

https://i.postimg.cc/7h2SqyHL/oil-04-01-2019.png

Finally oil is selling off in a much larger degree in a while. Has the wave 'B' top been struck right at 66.58? I want to believe so. down she goes and quite possibly the SM as well

looking at the chart, it could still have one more wave to try and hit the the 150 area due to the previous range of 87-120 breakout. In time I expect a drop back down to the 87 area for a good re-entry

Yah a little too soon. My original plan was to hold off on selling until after the Avengers release but movie releases seem to not have a big upwards effect. I have also read that some are expecting Aladdin and Lion King to 'miss' - I'll take my decent gains and move on. Looking to buy back in something else later on. Also, my TFSA is still making me some cash.

I think The Lion King will do well. Unsure about Aladdin and Toy Story 4 though.
Frozen 2 and Star Wars IX are also coming later this year too.

I made a small fortune several years ago on a solar stock called SLTD (Solar3d) that was producing a 3d solar cell and had supply and install contracts. Sold for over a 500% gain and hadn't looked back since. They turned into SUNWORKS (SUNW) and I recently invested some money into them several weeks ago. It's on rocketfuel right now. Gold

while it is having a good rebound today with a typical NFP 7-10 dollar swing to the upside. Gold really needs to find a way to break above 1289, until it does, over all bias remains down and this ICL target down to the 1230-1250 remains on the table.
edit: gold testing the 1289-1290 critical area now. closing above this will be key to a big breakout, failure would still keep the over all bias on gold bearish.

Probably more of a LT, but there is a solid arb left on the bones for Westjet between their dividend and the different between trading price and offer price right now.

Won’t make you BB money but it’s probably pretty safe.

Manhattan

Kudos to whoever held some Westjet. I traded them whenever they hit the mid teen levels. They looked like a decent LT hold but I wanted to wait to see how their "expansion" plans would play out.

The worst part of their sale to Onex is not losing out on the immediate 50-60% bump. The Canada TSX index is getting less diversified every time a private equity player buys out a public company. As a Canada investor this is a very disheartening trend as we have far less choices in investing in the public markets.

Oil

after topping out in a large wave B at around 66.x and had a slow wave 1 down. It may appear the start of wave 3 down (the big one) may be starting now

I happen to know PD is putting pressure on departments to improve profitability this calendar year, or risk being fully axed. Could help prices in the long run either way.

Fuck I hope the drop is not due to any leaked news coming out of the BC courts on limiting bitumen transport. Decision is supposed to come down tomorrow

I just know that historically 2$ is about the bottom for that stock. When they peaked around 4$ there a few weeks ago, I've been watching them to drop back down to a good entry point again. I've flipped PD for 50% gain 3 times now. They could still drop down more, but worst case I see right now is waiting till fall/winter for another big percentage return. I put in a good size purchase order yesterday afternoon, it hit my limit price right at closing time, order still says pending. So itching to see market open today.

Rewards could be great with Chinese Tech, but it sucks to put your luck into something that orange man could fuck up tremendously.

Edit: I'll buy under $40 USD, not at $50 though.

TCEHY is damn close to hitting $40 right now!!!

NIO - jesus fuck that has taken a dive....for obvious reasons though.

TSLA

i havent posted on TSLA before, and still wanting to take up a position but I still believe it is over priced. Ever since TSLA breaking below the 200 day moving average I am going to say we have already seen a full 5 wave move off the low in 2011. So my expectation is a serious decline which for some of us will be a fantastic opportunity to pick up for long term. With an immediate up trend line in the 16x, this could offer the initial big support/buyers jumping in for a quick gain. At best I only see TSLA having to back test the double over head resistance zone in the 255-270 area. Over time I want to see TSLA move down as low as the 60s. I may begin to scale in when it gets to the 115-140 area.

edit: to each their own. TSLA is definitely in a tough spot. I have a lot of technical traders expecting it to go down to 0 so the consensus is actually to short this one to zero. the 5th wave already looks like a failed 5th in EW terms. adding to the real possibility that TSLA has more trouble ahead even in a technical trading sense.

SPX

the breakdown has finally begun. I did premature exit all my holdings in April (a wee bit too soon) thats ok. I rather be wrong then holding the bag during a significant decline. Today confirms a H&S breakdown target the low 2600. This will be the minimum target imo. Over all I am still expecting a move below the low in Dec 2018. No one really can say if the stock market has reached critical mass and we need to see much lower prices/valuation to fuel the next major bull market rally. The only bullish notion is that the rise off Dec to now is merely the final wave 1 of 5 of (3) which then can still give us another run target 3k+. However at this point, I would like to think the risk/reward for this does not justify having both my feet wet as the downside target and the ability to pickup shares in the low is more appealing. So as 2600 comes, I will begin to scale in extremely light and will begin add more aggressively the lower she goes. My ultimate goal is to ensure I have cash for an extreme scenario case where spx or the SM will backtest the 2016 low.

Sold and realized most of my mutual fund gains. Should have done it a little bit earlier but oh well. Have been stockpiling cash for the past 6 months for next buying opportunities.

For you guys with S&P500/TSX ETF's, you moving it all back into cash (even with a loss) or keeping it in the market even if we enter into a recession?

Should probably go into the long-term thread but this is where all the posting takes place haha.

I'm on the sideline with 100% cash, with the occasional HOU / HOD swing trade for fun. Had a few good runs here and there (e.g last week held HOD w/ oil going from $62/bb to $57/bb) but also a few unsuccessful attempts.

Some stocks are looking really tempting to pick but I'm trying really hard to resist.... I don't want to try and catch a falling knife...

SPX

Since exiting all my position and into cash, I have been waiting for the stock market to take a good size correction. With the H&S breakdown this week, it is projecting down to the 2600 area. (blue count) which means if this is all she can muster, then the next bullish target resumption is another wave 3 and 5 that will take spx over 3k.

an alt count (orange) is a wave C under Dec low. (which is actually what I prefer) this will offer a good risk/reward entry.

For the time being I am only expecting these two paths, while keeping in mind the Red box 2016 low is the ultimate landing spot for the next major recessional decline target. I do not expect this zone to be retested until spx achieves at least a new ATH or even a meltup scenario. However Since exiting all my position in April. I will be reserving 30% in cash if I get the counts wrong and that a major decline is underway and we will see 2016 low. Cash is king and so I have learned during the 2008 crisis that having ammo during a major stock crash in a once in a decade event can be as lucrative as holding a position for the entirety of your life.

You can’t lose money if you hold forever. Unless the world ends. Then who cares about your portfolio.
