Any portofolio that makes enough to buy you a McDouble and Jr. Chicken combo after a 1% jump is large enough in my eyes.

That makes us all winners here.

Lawsuits are fake and are carry over from the Hindenburg Short Report on the company.

Hindenburg and Citron have really hammered some start-ups and unsurprisingly have left the bigger companies like MRNA alone. The one company thus far that has genuinely raised the most real questions of success.

A lot of stock manipulation.

My very elementary understanding is that stock manipulation is such a grey area that's hard to prove. Those cocksuckers have hit INO, CODX, SRNE and I'm sure others. The problem is that even when the company fight backs or not, the company needs some serious news to get investor confidence/hype back up. Otherwise they just bob along for weeks on end. Much to my dismay, they are good at what they do...

I believe INO has their Phase I results coming back mid-month here. I am not holding them anymore but I'm genuinely excited to hear how things have gone. In a conference call, their Chief Scientists was "surprised" to see that MRNA didn't talk about T-cell response which they feel is an utterly critical component to being successful and came across as a glaring missing piece. They on the otherhand are very focused on how T-cell activity responds with their protocol thus far. Different approachs with DNA and RNA but MRNA has such a huge backing now I can see them hammering shit through.

After a Harvard Med Prof was visibly pissed off while during an interview about how MRNA has handled the science, I lost a lot of faith in them. I think the deal with Morgan Stanley and diluting shares pissed off more investors than the..'less than ideal' science that was initially hyped across the world.

I'm adding bits as I can to CODX still. Their saliva testing and potential cancer detection technology could be a global game-changer.

Cfw and other pumpers are interesting. If you beliece that market recovers to 80% or more of previous levels, they are a good buy. If you beliece that the frac fleet was wildly over built, and we'll never pass 50% of previous activity, then they are are going to zero.
Add in the electric fleets from evolution and others, and it's a bet I sure wouldnt make.

But that whole view is about long term viability, not short term swings. Someone will make money on all the gyrations no matter what.

So more info came out on this:

He had written contracts, aka sold them. This is some lvl 3 options shit, this requires margin. Robin Hood actually gives margin by default, BUT they also do a couple things to save people from themselves... no 0DTE buying, and if you write contracts you must also buy the opposite contract (ie put vs call) you cannot exit the written contracts till you sell the covered buy... so no naked sells... naked sell on margin is when you can get a deep fucking. What happened here is the auto exercise (again, to save people from themselves) went through on the sell before the buy. What was actually owed was nothing near that amount.

Robin Hood since this has said they will restrict people from higher levels till proof of education, which is good

This also probably doesn’t effect many people in Canada as most will be using a registered account, which is cash, which means lvl 2 max... which also means no iron condors, which means no way to beat those damn broomsticks on witching weeks... I’m fine though! It hurt a little, but at least by Friday half my strangle broken even after taking a pounding on decay Wednesday/Thursday due to that flat fuckening

Allow my autism to contribute by translating 1 month old options trader wallstreet bro here.

He had written contracts, aka sold them. This is some lvl 3 options shit, this requires margin.

Levels 1 to 4 are option approval levels granted to you. Higher levels = Riskier contracts.

92425

When you buy a contract, your risk is the losing the premium that you paid for it. When you sell (write) a contract, your risk could be the entire market value of the option (if selling a call) or theoretically unlimited (if selling a put). If you are buying, you are in a "long" position. If you are selling, you are in a "short" position. As you can see, you are allowed to write Covered Calls in Level 1. This is "safer" because you already own the stocks that you writing calls on. As you lose money on the call options, you gain on the underlying stocks that you own (it's not 1:1 but I need to clean more Haskayne toilets to get into that).

no 0DTE buying, and if you write contracts you must also buy the opposite contract (ie put vs call) you cannot exit the written contracts till you sell the covered buy... so no naked sells... naked sell on margin is when you can get a deep fucking.

0 Day To Expiry (DTE) are options that have an expiry date of less than one day. If you are long, you are buying bargain basement contracts hoping that the prices jump significantly in the trading session. If you are short, you are betting that doesn't happen and want to make a few extra dollars. Both valid strategies if you know what you are doing.

"Naked sells" means you are writing a contract without an offsetting position to limit your losses (ie. opposite of the Covered Call scenario above). Naked sell on margin...isn't the leverage that you are probably thinking. Every time you write an option, you are required to post margin (or collateral). This is a percentage of your position. If your position worsens to a certain point, you could get a "margin call" - basically the broker wants you to put more cash in your account against potential losses. Many brokers don't do that anymore and just sell your position when you are at the margin call level.

"Deep fucking" to me is when my bidet sprays right into the bullseye. Wallstreet bros have a much deeper interpretation.

Robin Hood since this has said they will restrict people from higher levels till proof of education, which is good

Education means little in trading. That's why you have Wallstreet bros spouting nonsense lining up to lick the nut sack of the one teenager who turned 300 into 9999999999 tendies overnight. Do you even CFA/FRM/CCCP, bro?

This also probably doesn’t effect many people in Canada as most will be using a registered account, which is cash

Registered account in Canada refers to TFSA, RRSP, LIRA, etc. You could write options in some accounts, but CRA will "deep fucking" you if you make too many transactions as those are supposed to be "savings and investment" accounts rather than "trading" accounts.

iron condors, which means no way to beat those damn broomsticks on witching weeks

Iron Condor is a trading strategy composed of two spreads (4 options) with the payoff diagram looking like a bird.

92426

"Witching weeks" means days where you have the regular options expiry dates lineup for multiple exchanges. Yesterday was a "quadruple witching" where you have a gangbang of options expiry dates. Volatility and volume tends to be higher on those dates. However, it isn't as big of a deal as people make it out to be if you already have a good strategy.

strangle broken even after taking a pounding on decay Wednesday/Thursday due to that flat fuckening

"Strangle" is another options strategy where you buy an out of the money (OTM) call and an OTM put because you don't know where the flat fuckening market is headed but think it's going to go somewhere magnificently like the diarrhea out of your asshole. The market has to move enough to cover the premiums that you paid on both options in order for you to make tendies - which is /r/wsb talk for ten dollar bills...or chicken tenders depending who you talk to.

"Decay" is time decay or "Theta". You lose a bit of value of the option as time approaches expiry if you are in a long position.

Basically buddy here didn't know where the market was headed, so he tried to play both sides because of he thought that he was going to get gangbanged by four Hermiones on Friday. So he bought short time to expiry options because long expirations are expensive. Friday came and went without the expected volatility and volume, so he was left holding a "flat fuckening" broomstick dildo as his two options expired worthless.

Hope that was helpful. Now I will return to cleaning skidmarks at the Geology faculty. Dumb jocks...

You forgot to explain tendies. They’re the most expensive item on the fast food menu, which becomes affordable once you trade stonk options. If you don’t trade options you can usually only afford nuggets.

Hope that helps.

I love this thread. Like every 6 months another wannabe finance hardo comes out of the woodwork. They never seem to last though; I assume it's because they all become too wealthy to waste time posting here, and are spending all their time partying with Dan Bilzerian.

That made no sense because higher volatility increases the value of the contract to the buyer. Just sayin. Should I turn my autism off now?

This also makes no sense.

The problem with glamorization of quick low information gains, based purely on luck, is that it encourages people to do the same. People are desperate in these times and it encourages them to buy low probability plays focusing solely on the potential rewards without acknowledging the risks involved. This is why people piled onto dumb plays like USO and HTZ. Turning a lot of everyday ExtraJoes into ExtraPo's.

I actually respect the people who post loss porn on wsb because they show the reality of what could happen. Sure, one could say that you only gamble what you can afford to lose - but that's super stupid without knowing what your probability of gains are. At least with 649, you know it's one in 13,983,816. If you are going to lose money, you "minus whale" donate to a charity, as opposed to an investment bank, or wait to bet on Buc games. At least you know that Tom's got a bum ankle and Gisele isn't pleased with moving to the mosquito infested armpit of America. Is Gronk really going to be able to take TE1 snaps after a year of snacking on Cheetos and TV appearances including this one?

Wtf would you call something that can literally move 1000s of percents a day than volatile?! Now you’re just being obtuse for the sake of being an overly edumicated prick

This is no different than heading off to the casino, some people are hurting right now, others are saving hundreds a day on restaurants, bars, and parking. The markets are fucked, the volatility is comical, trump says the stupidest shit. Might as well strangle some shit. Minimal losses, unlimited gains as long as shit moves. This isn’t the long term, fixed income investing thread. It’s the short term thread, risk adjusted blah, blah, bullshit went out the window months ago, we’re about 2 months away from everyone’s saving being nationalized anyways. Might as well have some entertainment

Everyone's savings being nationalized? You mean pensions or bank accounts?
