@16hypen3sp (https://forums.beyond.ca/member.php?u=257874) is rolling in it

Yah, it's been a nice ride. I was going to sell it ALL at $55. But instead I started selling in tranches. No longer a large position. Nevertheless, I now have a large amount of money that I need to invest somewhere else. Never, ever thought that I'd be selling CNQ in the $60's range.

I'm up over 50% with my Suncor shares at an average cost of $24.07. That's my second highest performing holding, I just wish I had a lot more then 3000 shares.

I am as well but had I put that money in other oil stocks I'd be way more ahead

Good for a swing trade if you can handle the rollercoaster. Either swing it, or long term hold it. If cannot stomach long term because of all the continual delays to commercialization, then best not to hold it. It's very speculative, but also a ticker that can make you a lot of money or lose a lot lol!

$7 range is all time lows so the risk/reward is there I guess.

How do I short "coupe"? LoL, I digress...

NorZinc took a bit of a tumble today. It seems there banking hard on the Prairie Creek Mine taking off but have faced hurdles.
Looking at their website, I see the following description for their CEO. Like as in company/about/leadership this is intended to describe the career experience and vision of their CEO:

"Mr. Hazelton is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with more than 25 years of international finance experience, 20 of those years dedicated to the mining industry.

As it is more abundant, silver is far less expensive than gold. Additionally, an be ground into powder, turned into paste, shaved into flakes, converted into a salt, alloyed with other metals, flattened into printable sheets, drawn into wires, suspended as a colloid, or even employed as a catalyst. These qualities ensure that silver will continue to flourish as an industrial component while also retaining its status as a wealth symbol."

That's not how I would describe myself...

I’m curious what everyone’s exit strategy is on their energy holdings. I’m up on average 58% and I have a fairly large quantity of cash tied up but I haven’t figured out a plan regarding when to sell, how much I should sell, if I should setup a stop loss order on the holdings etc.

Has anybody else put any thought into this yet?

Suncor has been my highest performer and I feel like I should be happy with 75% gains. I'm leaning towards selling off 50-75% of my energy holdings to take out some of the profit but my gut says there is still some more to go. hmmmm

Agreed with Pacman, that happens to a lot of people and I’ve done the same with some of my tech ETF’s, rode them up to 30% then all the way down. Sold one at +5% and dumped it all in energy, the other is sitting at -10% now. I’ve also sold stagnant holdings for minimal gains after holding for a year, only to have them jump up 20% the following weeks after selling. I have enough boring stuff to keep me well ahead overall but I really don’t want to mess up my energy holdings.

If it makes you feel better, I bought Ford call options last year for 65 cents and they were over $15 a few months ago with 12 months until expiry.
