My whole portfolio this year has basically been short tech, long oil, so I'm loving this volatility.

I'm starting to see a lot of cracks in our financial/monetary system and that's my biggest concern. Rampant inflation, massive debts, QE now QT, market crashing... I think we're nearing the end of the MMT experiment and in the next year or two I have a feeling something is going to break, and what we consider money nowadays will be irrelevant. Crypto? Gold? Hodl? Not sure.

$221 Jan 2022 $562 March 2022

I don't have any comments I can make publically about excessively Chinese companies, but at least vital meets the accounting and disclosure requirements for the public listing, which is a very good first step.

Thier asset base is weirdly spread out, which isn't great, but individually should be executable. It's hard to start and grow a company these days. Most of the land is owned already.

I am not an investor in that company, but would consider it.

VUX - vital energy seems under valued

Following up on this, and after having a discussion with a friend who knows more about micro sask oil companies, I think I'd like ROK better than VUX for that kind of speculative energy investment. If you read the presentation, they have some plans through the year that should create value around Q4, so not just riding the broader market timing. Still wildly speculative, not investment advice.

How did this escape the consolidation thread? I knew I should have made that MEGA.

Anyway, had coffee with a guy I know who does A&D evaluation. His comment was that TVE used to be a weird collection of shit assets, but every aquisition they improve the average, and with this one, the new assets are probably good enough to justify the whole company by themselves. So it's his opinion that TVE is finally a decent investment. Potentially come short-term "weirdness" as the newly issues shares get digested into the market.
