Any thoughts on where you think we are headed in the coming months. I was looking at moving towards a strong Gold position about a month ago, since Aug/Sep seem to be it's strong months, and now I'm wishing I would have done that.

I've been long gold for about a week (futures), and I think its going much higher. Take a look at HGU on the TSX. Basically a Gold ETF. If your pockets are deeper look at GLD on NYSE.

If we get a pullback I'll probably add to my position, unless we get a really hard move like back in April-May 2006.

Long Gold, short $USD, looking to buy EUR/USD & GBP/USD, short USD/CHF, bla bla bla. Need better entry points first.

I'll do some more research tonight, and wait to see how things shape-up first thing monday morning. I was looking at IAU (gold trust).... simple and easy.... any thoughts?

IAU looks very similar to GLD in the way it moves, but GLD is much more liquid.

Up 0.011 cents.

You'd have to be holding a few 100K shares to make anything on that. To some, its just not worth the risk.

Waited a week or so for the request to complete, check my Account late last week and all of sudden I own AEC shares?? WTF I say to myself, I chose option 1 (Cash).

I call TD and they tell me there is a "clause" in small print stating Rol.a will only pay up to a certain amount of cash. Basically just cause you choose Cash option doesn't mean shit. Yeah, I can't put in a stop loss order on that stock. RBC doesn't let you for those stocks.

SO, I decide to just sit and watch it...going up fairly steady. So then I go have a damn shower and come back and it's down to 0.073. LOL. FAWK. And I have to go out for the rest of the day, so I am going to have to sell it right now. Piss me off.

With my luck, when I get back it will have closed at 0.085 or something.

Gay. Sold it 4 minutes ago at 0.073 and now it is at 0.080. FAWK.

Rat Fink,

I'm glad you made that one post about how you don't keep these things overnight, etc. Made me watch the stock closely, and I sold it the second I walked out the door when I could no longer watch it.

I didn't make as much as I could have, because it dipped down right as I had to go out - but I did make money selling at 0.073 and I'm glad I'm out cuz at 0.048 that is a big loss in a short time for those who bought in at 0.08 etc.

Good information and thanks for that post and early warning.

This stock took a tumble late today - looks like someone holding a big position sold ALOT of their stock - not worried at all though. If you research the company you'll find that this company, and MANAGEMENT isn't that of your typical OTC stock. I can see afterhours trading inbetween 7-8 cents. This thing will have another good day tomorrow, and will open very strong.

It'll be good for me, as well as the guys who want in and out short term gains. Keep an eye on this one!

No offence, but all these OTCBB stocks are hyped as 'not like regular OTC stocks!'. I've seen the 'news releases' being written (and helped write a few myself, quit that job) before it hits the wire and this is nothing new.

Considering the highs it was at earlier, price took a hit today with tons of volume. A big hammer candle with tons of volume is a signal to get out, especially after a huge run-up. We many see a small return move, but if it were me, I'd be exiting.

Of course, many guys hold onto these stocks because outrageous run ups can continue even after large % moves.

Just my thoughts.

91_Integz
09-10-2007, 06:44 PM
The price didn't take a hit today - it was actually up 2%. It was up to 8.6 today on HIGH volume, but if you look at the trades the tumble wasn't on high volume. Looks like a LARGE shareholder just sold off his holdings at market, which caused the price decline.

I know what you mean about these OTCBB stocks though, which I understand why you are emphasizing to exercise caution.

I'm just giving a heads up - I've done hours of reading about the company, and PERSONALLY I think it's good. Others may not, which is why anyone investing on any "stock tips" must conduct their own research, and not buy on a wimb.

GL to everyone in this thread in ALL your investments

I think you are wrong here. The management in this company isn't like your normal OTC stock - too much panic in this one. Once the audit results come out, this thing will be trading above 10 cents for sure. Zen-Fire is the fastest retail data feed guys like us can get. It is pricier then the others, but its worth it for some. If you're going to be scalping/quick intraday trading, its a neccesity.

Can you link me to that page where it asks for your current data feed? If you're not using one on the list I would just leave it blank.

It's near the bottom of this page:

From what I've read online (briefly), NinjaTrader is not compatable to trade with using Questrade

Canmorite
09-12-2007, 08:16 PM
Oh, no it's not compatible with Questrade. Zen-Fire is for futures and forex.

Ninja Trader is a seperate platform, which you buy or use for free, depending on the version. The data feed is from a seperate company, that you pay per month/year for.

AFAIK, Questrade gets their data from one source and thats all you can use. I don't know where they get it from, though.

No so happy with this one either but here is a plus:

When the IPO closed, it had raised lots of cash. Equity's and metal prices had already started to fall and throughout the month of July there was some great bargains out there for Century Select to purchase with the many millions it had raised. As the markets pick up steam again, these bargains will be moving very well.

I think once we get an update on the cash and investments position that there will be some more movement here.

Either way, I cannot say I enjoy seeing an investment down this much after an IPO.

Sorry, but I have to somewhat disagree with this. While taking a profit feels great, taking it too early is a zero sum game.

When you cut your losses AND profits short, your ratio of winners to losers needs to be much higher. Pulling an 80% win ratio would work with this 'taking a quick profit' but thats a high ratio to maintain.

I agree that when your losses start to amount, cut them short. Get out, now. If it hits your stop, or mental stop, honor it. When significant support/resistance areas you may get wild moves that could take your account balance lower.

What I'm trying to say is let your profits RUN and cut your losses SHORT. Of course, this depends on your time frame. If you're intra-day trading, you close your position by the end of the day regardless of win or lose.

If you buy a stock and it moves in your favor, of course you could take the profit and it feels great to lock that in, but consider selling half and letting the rest ride.

Man, what do you guys do for a living that you can watch the markets this closely?!

I like to get on my platform a few times a day, but I don't have the time to "trade".

Most my classes start at noon, so I'm up at 6:30 ish to watch the pre-market action, then trade for a few hours before leaving.

EDIT: Sounds like a good day Rat Fink

I'm with RBC Action Direct and nothing has shown up in regards to the whole ACE and ROL.A deal.

I didn't accept the cash buyout and didn't do anything when they mailed me their package.

My account lists the closing balance of ROL.A effective the last trading day but nothing else is updated. Under the symbol it says "R102301"

Does it take awhile to update or should I call Action Direct? I haven't been paying any attention to the market. I'm still trying to recover lol

I had the same concern with my Questrade. I put in a request to find out why there was a delay, and it was updated this morning.

When in doubt, call.

For me, I do drafting/engineering type work. 95% of the time I'm at the computer for the entire day. I keep my platform open and running in the background at all times.

Today was a big day for me. I made almost 3 months of my salary. I'm a bit behind on one of my drawings now. meh. :D

Haha nice work out there today Rat Fink!

What a sloooooww day. Everyone is waiting for tomorrow.

Consensus is a 25 point basis cut from the fed, with a possibility of a 50 point cut. If we get a 50, there will be a lot of buyers out there.

SWVC got pwnt today. Down 14%.

Anyone know why RSG is moving?

It is up to .235 now. Has been sitting down mid-low teens for a while. Volume is nearly 10x normal.

My problem with RSG is I bought it at .295. It went up to .34 at the time, and I held. Then it dropped like a stone and I had no stop set. So I've been hanging on to a whack of shares for a long time. .26 looks good to me to sell. Hahah, so that tells you how far behind I was just a couple days ago. But obviously I'm gonna hang on to this for a while longer.
