Any of you considering closing half your position before news just incase it's not so good? I've been throwing that idea around but I just don't want to reduce my upside potential.

I've done that before, and got royally fucked. With AOS in fact. It seems no matter what I decide I get screwed over. But this time I'm going to keep all of mine.

Big bucks, no whammies!

Just looking ahead a little bit. What is everyone looking to after they exit from CMX?

A few people here mentioned GRW. I know very little about the company, but the insider selling over the past month concerns me a little.

I'm looking at AAB right now, anyone have any other suggestions?

Got enough indicators? :nut:

Price, time and volume are the most important. All lagging indicators are, well, lagging price action.

Support at 0.60 for BAY. If you can buy as close to that as possible, and set your stop at around 0.54-55 you'd be fine. Risk reward at 0.60 is great.

It'll be stop losses.

I was going to set one but then I figured this kind of thing would happen and I'd lose my shares. Been there, done that.

The more that sells at .35 the happier I am. Building good support at that range is a good thing.

I'm kind of hesitant that a news release will come out on a Friday.. hmm...

12-13-2007, 10:10 AM
I'm part of an investing group and one of the members called yesterday and apparently there will be news on friday, but they aren't going to halt trading.

Here's hoping!

And for whoever suggested SNO (I see a post on this page) I give that one a big  - De Beers would not be processing 400tons for free if they were not expecting good results. Similarly one major investor paid, out of his own pocket, for the first 100tons to be helicoptered (if that's a word) to De Beers.

If CMX had good news to be released, wouldn't they be in a hurry to release it? Seems to me like they're putting off the release just to push the share price up.

Hope you guys have your stop losses in place because on bad news you might end up with a bunch of not so liquid shares.

Labs were delayed. All companys experienced delays. They JUST got back the results later yesterday. Takes time to analyze and the IR "KCrew" to do up the NR as well.

The people who release the companies' news, don't control trading.

The TSX will halt trading if they deem appropriate.

"The delivery of the first 100 tonnes of kimberlite, of a 500 tonne total bulk sample, to DeBeers Canada Exploration Ltd. Dense Media Separation Plant, located in Grande Prairie, AB, will enable DeBeers to begin processing the kimberlite on December 3, 2007. This processing is expected to take ten days. "

I put in a market order this morning, and usually those fill instantly. Took mine 5 minutes to fill for some reason.

I was just moving money from one crappy stock (ASX) to CMX in hopes it might actually do something other than go down like ASX has done. Lost 9k on that POS.

ASX was one I never really trusted.... bought it way up at $1.89 and sold it at $2.12 quite a while ago. It's amazing how that has fallen.

Speaking of holding losers, I'm still stuck with my AEC shares back from the ROL.A investment. I held out thinking that we may see something positive from AEC..... how very wrong I was! That one stings, because I bought ROL.A at a $1.07 (which IMHO was a good deal for what I was getting)... but they accepted that crap offer from AEC.

Oh and forgot to mention SME.TO... Bought at 1.56 and it's at .60... should have sold when in the 3 dollar range. Zimmerman left and the place goes to shit!!

I also have AEC. Another POS.

ASX just kept going down. It dropped to .70 and rebounded to nearly 1.00 and I thought OK, I'll hang on. Stupid mistake. But by then I had lost so much I figured I'd just keep holding it. Today I decided fuck ASX and sold it.

For everyone wondering about getting alerts the best thing to use in google alerts.

You can set it up here:

I use this for news releases all the time and I just use the company name as the search terms and I always get instant notifications.

So if news is not released until the markets close before the weekend; what does this tell us?

I find this concerning, as it could mean that results are somewhat dissapointing and they don't want a mad selloff. Delaying the release allows people to think through the results.

The other option is that the results are mediocre or great, but one would think they would then be more likely to release them early.

Comments?

Or else the markets are down again but not as bad as the last couple of days. Monday looks to be a better day as well. Maybe they dont want to release it on a negative market sediment.

I'm contemplating exiting part of my position right now. If results are released during the trading day without a halt, then it's easy to react quickly and exit with minimal losses. If the results are released on the weekend, then we could see a huge drop by Monday morning.

I'm not in this one but from what I've been hearing it doesn't look as good as people are hoping for. Alot of spec on this one.

Agree with you though if the news comes after hours and isn't good you know it's going to be bad Monday morning (and you'll have it on your mind all weekend).

I'm with you guys.

No nuts, no glory.

Besides, it's only money right?

I guess what it comes down to is, what would you regret more. I personally would hate myself if the news comes out stellar and this thing shoots up. On the other hand, if it's not good and this thing plummets, I think I could accept that fact and move on.
