Premium edge where you pay 7.90 a trade? up to 50 trades.

How many trades a mounth do most people do? Dosn't this get expensive?

Sorry that you have to enlighten me.

What type of account to open?
1. cash
2. margin
3. short selling and margin
4. options

I am assuming it would be short selling and margin.

What is the difference between basically option 1 and 3.

AndrewMZ3

You being pretty new to this, I'd suggest you open a cash account that way you only have at risk money you're willing to lose.

First choice will be to open up a Cash Account.

#2 = usually means margin long account
#3 = usually means margin short account

The difference between a margin account and a cash one is that firms give loan values on equity holdings. You can then use that loan value and spend it like if it were cash in your account. You then pay interest on any amount you "borrow". So basically you're borrowing money while using your portfolio as collateral.

With the start of the New Year, I thought it might be cool to setup something where everyone picks 5 stocks that they feel will be huge this year. 5 stocks that you believe will show strong gains for 2008 - and then come Dec31st we can see who outperformed the market, and who didn't.

I'll start:
1) GCA - Way undervalued
2) AAB - Please see above
3) ETFC - Once again see above
4) RSG - expecting big things
5) GCE - I'm not too sure about this one... but I'm hopeful ;)

RX_EVOLV

hah the thing is I think my picks will be huge sometime this year but might lose their 15 min of fame by the end of the year.. either way..

1) VMS
2) NER
3) DLL
4) GRW
5) WHD

I'm into CMX this week for 37,000 shares.

At the end of today I was pretty happy with my decision :-)

I'm sticking with some dogs of mine for 2008

TLG.V

ADA.T

CGC.T

Kind of boring stocks but the goods are there, and for two of them they are producing mines now. With the POG at all time highs theres only one way to go from here me thinks

frick those pics look good! next week is going to be interesting.... although i'm wondering why they post the pic now.. if they chose not to post them two months ago... is it a sign that the actual assay results are just around the corner??? or are they just trying to pump the price up.. either way...

haha does it not remind you of VMS or what! Core pics.. $0.17 to $0.70.. then shortly after assay results.. $0.70 to $1.50.. ! i'm excited

Buy back in at 0.27 or so?

GRW cor pics were released last night. Most likely gap up Monday morning. I dont think 27 cents well be an entry point Monday morning.

I think it will gap up on Monday.. but if they dont release the assay result soon ( before Friday). i think the stock might cool off and fill the gap~ which I'm fine with either way, at least i dont think it will be trading below $0.26 next week.. hopefully it can build a base at least on $0.30 before the halt!

or I guess best case scenario is to follow the VMS trading pattern.... shoot up for 2 days...... then come the Halt.. assay results... reopen and close at ~ $0.75.. that would be sweettttt

Should be interesting this week. Couple stocks we are watching with news pending.

Just looking at the pre-open bid/ask sizes, it looks like GRW will gap up this morning.

I'm considering putting half my holdings up at .38 or so and rebuy on a retrace... the only problem would be if it halts before I can rebuy.

Rat Fink, you planning on trying some penny flipping on this?

Ya, the only problem is GRW is highly manipulated. A lot of the L2 info is fake. Fake walls that get pulled as soon as people start buying them, etc.

It could get tricky to find a good point to flip at, since this thing can turn on a dime. Probably more with seat of my pants judgement than anything.

Still not fully sure if I will flip any shares. Afterall, selling 80K in the .30s to buy back in a bit lower won't give me THAT many more shares.....might not be worth selling and risking having to buy that chunk back in higher. We'll see though.

With this pre-open activity, I'm thinking I'm just gonna sit on my shares as well. I'd rather miss out on a few cents than on the big jump.

can't say I am overly excited given what happened w/ CMX last week, although IMO you cant really compare GRW to CMX. On paper everything looks good, except Billminer from SH said there most likely wont be any Cooper and his opinions are highly highly respectable.

I also wished they would halt the stock tmr or Weds instead to let the core photo speculation drive the price up a little bit ( and chance for a quick flip).. but oh well! lets hope its good news!

AndrewMZ3

I don't own any of the GRW stock, but I'd be super pissed about that news release.

You never know though, the price may still rise just due to core photo speculation. But that update blows and was a lousy reason to halt.

I think GRW will head a little bit lower before the assay, apparently a few ppl who talked to the Company were told assay closer to end of Jan.... even if that is a generous time frame we still won't see any result until next week earliest.

I'm holding on though....
