Nope sold for 3 cents yesterday.

SNO is the play. The SP has been boxed in again. very stable at the current price. Good entry point I think. bashers have boxed it in (same guys from past year) and are accumulating again.

Talked to a director at SNO today. PP very close to filled. Basically filled was what I was told. Lots held by insiders.

Also the person doing the audit starting around Feb 4, is a separte, independetly employeed person. Teh auditor was involved during the process of concentrate gathering and will be there for the diamond count process.

KappaSigma

Two plays to be in right now:

SNO and ASW

Both have diamond NR expected. ASW expected before SNO. As they are already being analyzed and results due out any day. SNO starts their count process Feb 4.

I flipped it a couple times today. But basically it traded all day long at .36 to .38 with the exception ofcourse in the early morning where it was a little wild. Was boring day for SNO IMO.

I might buy in tomorrow AM again and see what happens.

Thats how SNO trades. The paid bashers have boxed in the SP since day one to accumulate shares.

3) SNO how did you guys get a hold of them and find out what they are doing?

I'm assuming it's the same person. There's a bit of a push and shove going on around .37 with TD/RBC.

Funny how little guys are selling right now.

Only way I sell if I am a little guy with 5-10K shares is around 44-45 cents..maybe 43 again. The big boys are accumulating for a reason. Sit back, the SP is pretty much locked in at this price give or take a few cent variance either way and hold out till news.

Platinum and Palladium stocks will do well this month.

Nearing 5 year highs, and platinum has shot through the roof.

Some that come to mind...

On the TSX: PTM, BTP, PDL

On the NYSE: SWC

A few of these up 20-40% already.

I don't play the TSX but I'm pretty sure when something is up 20-40%, I wouldn't touch it, especially in this market place.

For those RRSPs, I've got a Gartman Global Allocation Deposit Note here that's principally protected and has up to 25.99% per annum. 6 year term. Last one that was done was in December 2007 and it's up 4% already + capital appreciation. Remember, the principal is protected and guaranteed to get it back at the end of the term.

^^i m just referring to the shares that start and go between 10 cents to 50 cents.

wouldn t it be better to start something that has a higher potential than just gaining a few cents?

basically, i have a grand to throw into a stock and i m on the fence if i should buy into a penny stock or go for one that starts between 10-15 bux and which i just saw that it was just almost 50 bux a few months ago. i want to get on the rollercoaster before it goes up again cause it fluctuates.

Let's see.

If you buy a penny stock at $0.10 and it goes up 1 cent, that is 10%.

Your $1000.00 just turned into $1100.

If you buy a stock at $10.00 and it goes up 1 cent, you will have $1001.00

Which would you rather have? $100 or $1?

The decision is yours.

Schwa

Yeah I don't get why the newbs are so hung up on share price. It's all about percentages people. If you have a 100 shares of $10 or 10 shares of $100, 10% is 10%.

Sheesh! :banghead:

Not really a fair comparison. A 0.10 stock might need just as much volume and activity to hit 0.11 as a 10 stock might need to hit 11.

Penny stocks are also a lot riskier and under normal non pump and dump situations are not as liquid.

Etrade is a $5 stock and it does about 50 million shares/day volume. I can make more risk-free money on the swings that etrade goes through than i can on most penny stocks. Every second a trade goes through. On penny stocks you can wait some time before a trade happens. And when the swings occur, they're usually quick and unpredictable.

Also don't forget, 2007 was one of the biggest bull markets since the tech boom. People making money on stocks in 2007 is nothing to brag about and in a lot of situations i'd call it "lucky".

Some people on this forum have never even seen a bear market. Wait until that hits and watch penny stock traders scramble like chickens with their heads cut off.

For those following this thread for 1+ years, I've been pumping GCE.TO for over a year. I did a ton of DD on it, and loved the stock as a value investment.

Bought into it at $.99 and sold out at just over $1.40 because I was getting nervous about the market slide. Now it's over $2. Lesson learned, stick with and trust your research people! ;)

IQW = want to lose your money?

Of course you can call the company. If I own shares in a company, I am part owner. For them to tell me how work is going, etc is part of my right as a share owner.

Telling your SNO is the big ticket IMO. They have contracted another rig for more exploration. Diamond count should be out in 1-2 weeks. And its dipped like all other stock due to huge red markets today. Its a bargain point IMO.

NR for new rig should be out in a few days.

Z_Fan
02-05-2008, 01:46 PM
I've flipped IQW a lot for a fair chunk of cash. However, in the last few trading days the volume as dropped significantly. It is a lot harder to flip IMO. I'm holding some IQW now, but basically I will dump it if it goes much lower.

I got stopped out of SNO this morning too. Made a couple thousand on it even after my recent losses on that. If it drops to low 30's (which I think it will if trend continues) then I might buy back in...

What trend? The trend that the whole market is red but is now rallying back this afternoon? was 300 red and now down to 220 red.

Or the fact that the PP was locked in at 35 cents.

Or the fact that the average trading price for SNO after the last run has been around 39-41 cents, with heavy accumulation at that SP.

Z_Fan

Well, the trend I refer to is low volume, steady decline in price, and steady decrease in bid volume.

I'm sure it will only close down 3 cents or so today.

The PP NR should be issued soon with closure which will cause people to draw in as the SP would be drawn to remain close to SP like exchange requires.

And the NR for the next rig will create volume, as the diamond count should be a week or so after that NR.

I got stopped out of SNO this morning too. Made a couple thousand on it even after my recent losses on that. If it drops to low 30's (which I think it will if trend continues) then I might buy back in... [/B]

Did you get your shares in the cheap 30s

Just called the company PP close NR will be announced within 24-48 hours. Than the market price isnt needed to be held near the PP price to allow the PP to go through exchange.

It's a non-brokered PP FT w/ 4month hold anyways.

Well, like I said earlier my original shares were in the twenties. I sold when it was high forties. Then I also flipped it several times the days the volumes was high and price was fluctating 0.04 or more in the few days after the big run up.

Never had a lot of $$$ in SNO.

I'm good on SNO. I know there may be lots more money to be made there - no doubt. But I want to make some money off RSG because it for some reason still pisses me off. CMX too.

RSG is cheap right now IMO.

At one point with RSG I was up thousands and thousands of dollars. Then I got greedy and held one day too long and before I knew it, I was eight thousand dollars behind. Huge swing.

I've got some shares that I want to get rid of but I need to sell at at least .21 or .22. I'm sure it will jump up to that point sometime in the next couple months.

I hate RSG. Hate it - but I'm gonna play it until I get my money back. LOL.

I don't like RSG.... but I dislike CMX even more.

I had it all planned out, wait for the NR in CMX and sell.... then buy into GCA. Well, CMX is down over 50% and GCA is up about 25%..... go figure  :(

GCE is another one that is pissing me off. Mostly because I bought some at $1.40 and it went down to like $1.00 and I held it. Then eventually I sold it and look at that stock now. Kicking ass lately.

Good to see someone was listening to my pumping. :bigpimp:
I still like the stock, and hope it drops back so I can get back into it. They are announcing their Q results soon, and hopefully that will cause some pullback.

I really dislike CMX

I was up over 5 grand twice on my holdings with that stupid POS and I never pulled the trigger...! :banghead:

Now I'm holding lots and lots and lots

Grrrr

EDIT:

I know some people got burned on TIOMIN (TIO-T) before

But heck! Its trading at their current cash holdings right now.

If that thing with Jinchuan goes through or I suppose any good news from Kwale I think its bound to go up some.

Does anyone else see any risk here at this price? I'm thinking of putting ina few orders at 0.06

Edit x 2:

Plus theres a whole bunch of new insider buying on the public market last half of Jan and early in Feb....

I had 100,000 shares of TIO that was bought at 0.16 so you can imagine how annoyed I am with that stock. I bailed on 50,000 shares of it at 0.09 and hold the other 50,000 shares still. But yeah, it's gotta do something eventually. :dunno:

It's painful for me to watch.... I was in that for almost a year, and sold out 6 weeks to early. I was going to get back in after CMX and RSG.... but not at this price....

BTW.... since my work computer doesn't have Java - would someone kindly post L2 for GCA.TO please? Thanks!

Good thing I sold WHD at .13 last week. Up 60% today!!! :whipped:  :whipped: :banghead:

I defenitely got burned on my EFR purchase a couple weeks ago but it is still the best bang for the buck IMO for a junior U explorer / miner. What other future producer with a mill coming online can you buy for under a $1! This will be a great long term play if you can wait it out.

How about BRD-X

Just signed an agreement with SXR (i think?) to mill their uranium ore.

If I'm not mistaken, BRD will be the first junior producer in N/A

^Yeah I've seen BRD but they are getting hosed by Denison's ore buying schedule (Denison will be milling). EFR will be mining and milling their own and will have the ability to sell at the spot rate as well as process ore from other miners in the region. Right now, DML- Denison holds the cards. EFR is apparently still in talks with DML or SXR to mill ore that is produced in the interim. They are expected to start mining the Whirlwind deposit in Q2 this year and will either stockpile or sell if the terms are right.
