^^^ 76 is a good price to get in, its the 38.2% retracement as well as a trendline support.

however there are still 2 other support at 72 and 68.

I would half my position here and buy the other half if it does get to 68.

however if ur aready have a position. then just wait for 68

Hey Rat- what is your outlook on ENG?

What NR is coming down the pipe?

It looks pretty beat up here and was thinking of grabbing some.

Are you still holding PCQ as well?

I will be watching ENG here and may take a small position....I think the downside is somewhat limited given the recent fall.

Update*

With the recent sell off in the stock market, i'm eye picking some opportunities coming up. One in particular is CAF I believe I've mention this a few times.

CAF is morgan stanley China, their stock directly reflects the china stock market notably the shanghai composite index. which is current at about 3300 points. its peak was at 6000 when it ran up from 900 to 6000 in just a few years.

I believe for a long term investment, China is where you will see some of the biggest gains for the next 5-10 years.

CAF is currently traded at 42.30 this price had closed below its .5 retracement which is at 42.50 and I believe technically it will test its last support and breakout at 40.50 making it a good place to plan your foot.

personally that is what I will be doing.

Another one is FXI ishare china which is also similar the CAF however FXI did not show as much of an opporunity as CAF FXI is a safer bet, if you want something more stable.

Anyways another one to watch is Marvel entertainment current at 32.20, hit 31.56 last week. 30 is agreat entry that is pre-Ironman breakout point and support. I only see Marvel entertainment continue to make record money with these superheroe movies. The key is they are taking in more profits to themselves then say spiderman when it had to split 50/50 with Sony.

Anyways Quiet day in the market since US is closed.

P.S

Starbucks technically is about to break out I say 17-20 short term 24 mid term. Long term well that depends on how they can pull themselves out of their slump, its time for a rebound. in the world's biggest Coffee house.

repeat- Visa support at 76.53, 72.42 and 68.3. Visa has to close above 76.53 tomorrow in order to confirm this support to hold, I think it will as there is a trendline underneath it. If it doesnt then look for opporunity in 72 and 68 to double your position. Visa will most likely be trading between 70-90 for awhile.

If it hits 90 again I would cash out for a while until it lands on one of its support again

I'm a Noobie in this forum, but was wondering if anyone here had any good thoughts about uranium stocks?

With oil as expensive as it is, it seems like the nuclear option is going to get more and more attractive. Heck we're even getting one here in the Peace country of Alberta.

That being said the companies that mine the fuel for those things should be in higher demand, prices should go up.

Has anyone else been thinking this too, and do you have any specific companies that are worth looking into?

Please excuse the ignorant question, but generally what happens to a company's stock price when that company is bought by another?

For example if TLM is bought by the Chinese?

I used to work with a company that was a vendor for Cott. They have internal issues with their infrastructure and logistics.... but if they get everything sorted out, they could be a good winner. You've peaked my interest on them so I might do some research on them tonight and post it up here.

You have any research on them?

I've been looking at LQW for the same reasons, but I just don't have enough confidence in them to jump in yet.

With a lot of these coal plays now getting comfort letters that assure they are "first in line".....it seems like the Sask gov't handed them out almost like those ribbons they gave to the fat kids in track and field that said "participant".

Actually pretty pissed about all this coal bullshit because I've burned a lot of hours reading into these plays to try and find the better one. I'm staying away from it all until I clear my head from it.

how many of you got in around 76?

as it turns out i was right about it technically 76 was a .38 retracement support and 75 was a daily trendline. it held, and since then has shot up 17% to around 85 this morning. It also broke thru 84.74 resistance quite convincingly, so I know the chance of it testing its peak at 98.84 is quite certain. Though because of its huge run up already (doubled since IPO) I believe 90 will hold for awhile. then again, you can never underestimate when a stock is in a trend. If it can close above 90, this stock will test 95 and 100,

On other front, I hope some of you snatched up Dell and SBUX when they were near their 52 week low. Dell had beat their earnings last night hence they have shot up 10% and SBUX technically broke thru its slumps with a positive to divergence and is on a uptrend up 15% from where I got in. I see it testing its critital 18.80 a close above this to move towards 20 short term.

Sndk I got out with a 52% but since bought back around low 28 as for a week it has been holding well at this floor. I still believe the run isnt finished as I suspect some upgrades coming like previous 3 years most came in jun-july. Summer is their best season. I feel their major resistance is at around 34.9-42.00 depending which high to low you look at over all.

Nvda I got out at 24.75 which is quite close to their .38 retracement. However if you have been holding this still, you have hope as it was recently upgraded. So this is a hold

Other ones to consider are bank of america which just came off near their 52 week low also, and office depot which is heavily oversold. ODP below 13 is a good buy. I say bank of america BAC is a good short term pick up while ODP is a mid to longer term

with the strong Dell numbers, IBM and intel all beating their quarters. I see AMD having the potential to turn around sooner. they predicted Q3. anyhow stock prices hasnt reflect this, anything below 7 would be alot safer now than 2 months ago as it has technically broke out. I'm hoping for a dip to 6.50 to get back in. currently at 6.75 but this one you will need to hold a 6 month minium for any potential return.

for riskier play, SIRI sirius radio at its current level 2.56 is attractive. If the FCC merger happens without any negative imposed condition, you will SIRI in the 4 dollar range. While you should stay away from XM, since XM is in worse shape compare to SIRI, even if the merger does not happen, SIRI has nearly caught up to XM in subscribers. Again this is a trade on rumor sell on news.

CAF I was hoping it touch 40.50 level, but somehow it only dip to 41.80 and now back to 44.00 unfortunate, as for mid-long term this is a great pick up if you believe in China for the next few years. The ishare FXI which is also a china stock reflection counterpart is too expensive at 149.0 and the gain does not match Morgan stanleys. So keep it on your radar.

For gold, after tounching off around 930, has crashed to 870.00 this may be a good spot to make a few dollars (sitting on a trendline) but with oil prices falling almost 10 dollars. And US recently say GDP numbers were better than estimate, this may life the short term US outlook somewhat. So I would stay away from gold unless it can get below 850.0

for USD/CAD curreny exchange anything below par (as in weak USD) is a great pick up it has formed good support back at the 9880 level which is the .38 support for many months. short term weak CAD stronger US dollar.

;) all for now

PCQ teamed up with Squatex, and now has more land. They are right next to QEC who teamed up with Talisman.

Talisman also announced they will be investing more than half a billion dollars into these shale gas plays in Quebec.

I don't want to know.

I've lost so much money on the market, I basically can't play it anymore. But the difference is it was not "free" money that was made on the market. It was money I've gotta deal with replacing. LOL.

So, lose $50000 that way, and it's a lot different than losing $50000 from the $100000 you made on the market.
