Up to .77. Pretty much where it was a few days back when the news came out...right before the big tumble.

Been strong last couple days. Thoughts on WGF?

I held my shares. So I'm back to even on this one.

I think it till be break towards 95 or even as high as touching off 100 and when that happens the chart will look bearish and I can see if quickly fall back to 80-85

However if you were holding it longer term then it doesnt matter. But if you just want to make a few dollars then either sell right below 89 and wait for buyback at major support level such as 75, 72 and 68 or a close/break above 90

wow the weak employment number is bad for the dollar
notice the US dollar index hit a nearterm double top

looks like some weak US market for the next week or two

and for Visa, I notice Mastercard shown some negative technical which will also drag down Visa back to 80 at least

a close below 84.74 is bearish towards 80 or even 75

I'm out and waiting for a buy back on some dips

wow market wide decline has given some good opportunity on the table.

although the rest of the year market will continue to be volatile untl the fed starts to increase their interest rate to and post election I see then we will have a somewhat better US market.

but still I like what I see on some good stocks.

short term
BAC looks great at around 30 or 29.58 to be precise that is the .5 retracement, if you notice, everytime RSI is oversold this stock would bounce 10-20% higher right after.

Nokia is another one of those sitting around 26.50, anything below this is another good pick up for that 10-20%

Motorola 8.95 now, good for 9-10 pickup

DiVx is a good buy around and below 8.50 towards 10

Others like DIS Disney at 32.33 is a good pick up, it will bounce off its Moving average and last breakout point. good for 32-39

Midterm

Sndk has suprised me somewhat that the .31 retrace didnt hold at 27s, and now its going to test .5 at 26s. Worse I see is .6 at 24.5 so buy on this level I still see it retest its 33 high if not higher towards 40.

I also see upgrades coming too

Long term

CAF finally has came to my target buy in price at around 40.50, though the real bottom should be 40.10 (61.8) retrace so I will buy half here and half if it does break lower to its 52week low around 33.0 (this I will hold, because I truely believe China will regain its footing back to its heights last year. so this will be a 60 dollar stock in my portfolio

Visa luckily after spotting bearish signals on Mastercard, I got out early, and will wait as it will at least test 78-80 which is its trendline support. Still if this doesnt hold, further weakess warants towards 72 50% retrace

also watch tim horton its at 31.00, its .6 retracement and final support is at 29.95 so if u can pick some up at 30.00 and hold until it retest its 39.93 high would be a good play

EOR.V - ground floor investment opportunity for North America's largest undeveloped CO2 dome. They are currently drilling wells to prove reserves (currently 1TCF proved). The Cobb's reserve report just came out for the St. John's dome (mostly owned by EOR), and they're showing 8TCF of recoverable CO2).

InvestorVillage thread: http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=6738&clear=1&pt=m

Valuation Spreadsheet done by one memeber currently holding $3M of shares:
http://www.investorvillage.com/smbd.asp?mb=6738&mn=5427&pt=msg&mid=4924619

The direct comparison for it is Denbury Resources (http://finance.google.ca/finance?q=NYSE%3ADNR), which EOR.V is trying to replicate. Denbury has gone from $1.x (back when it was in the same stages as EOR.V) to where it currently is... $34 with a $8.5B market cap.

It has 3 facets to the business:

CO2 - Sits on a huge reserve, 8TCF. CO2 prices are roughly 2-4% of a BBL of oil per 1000 cubic feet... so do the math.
Oil - They have been buying depleted oil fields and are in the process of initiating their own CO2 flooding projects.
Helium - There is a high helium percentage in their CO2, and helium costs have skyrocketed in the past years. They have a contract in the works with Air Liquide to build a helium extraction plant.

As it stands, the Cobb's report just came out, verifying that they are sitting on top of a huge CO2 reserve in the time where oil prices are skyrocketting and the US dependence on foreign oil is its greatest vulnerability.

They need to drill more wells to increase their 'proven reserves,' which will be the underpinning of a 380 mile long pipeline to get their CO2 to the permian basin, where there is a shitload of mature oil fields and oil companies hungry to buy their CO2.

Upside for this stock is ridiculous... I've recently bought 25,000 shares. Keep in mind: this is a speculative stock in which I think very little speculation is left. The economics are just too damn good for the play not to get developed, and once it does... I'm buying a new car ;)

looks like oil is about to collaspe looking at the chart technically it is showing great bearish signals forming. near term could isntantly collasp back to the 125/b trendline

I see oil potentially hitting around 100/b and when that happens time to load up on USO stock

SilverRex
06-17-2008, 07:29 AM
update-

well with oil coming down we will get a short term bounce for US market.

while I do not recommend shorting oil, I would keep my eyes open as oil approaches 100 dollar, if then USO should be in the 70-80 dollar range which would be a screaming buy as oil makes another leg run at 150+

In the meantime some good pick up at the moment would be

CAF as much as as china index has been struggling, I feel a rebound is near as CAF alone shows it has been oversold RSI and 38 dollar support is holding extremely well. I would make a position here towards 46-50 whether it can find its way breaking the 50.80 barrier will depend heaviler if china shanghai index can regain momentum

NOK with forward earnings of just 10, I say nokia has never been this cheap in years. while the lowest possible bottom is around 24.4, I suppose the 25.50 price now is close enough if you have nothing else to play. and hold this towards 29 minimum again it is also oversold heavily.

BAC while I recommend a buy at 30, it dip as low as 28.8, support is at 29.58, extreme oversold, this stock is quite volatile, so I would take my profits when it makes a quick run at 35-36

MOT currently holding many months and test many months well around 8.85-9.00, should suddenly pop towards 10 again. this is short pick up for that simple 11%

Visa/Mastercard while im surprise it is getting back on track again, but the chart on mastercard still scares me. Wait patiently until both companies line up. I still rather wait and see if it can make a new low into the 65-70 dollar area then to get in now and panic every time it dips below 80 is my advice.

THI tim horton technically should have tested their support at 30 by now, but somehow it only touched 30.50, while no stock has to touch certain levels and nothing is gauranteed in the market world. if you happen to spot this hit 30 dollars I would enter here for long term towards 40.00 and even longer if market continues to drive higher..assuming we no longer in a bear market.

Some risky play such as SIRI and Crox both technically bottom out if you ask me. these one at your own risk, as I own them both for some fun and waiting for quick action sIRI potentially pushing towards 3.50 with its near completel SIRI and XM merger after a long 17 month wait. while crox is facing alot of buy out rumor and have been one of the heaviest short selling stock in the market, so any time now we could see a huge short squeeze. I see a nice divergence MACD happening here, a close above 10 will start the rally towards 12

NVDA was a buy from 19-25 a while back which I completed and took my profits now that is back to 21 dollars. I see good pick up here. NVDA has always been a great stock for myself. given their name and cash cow, debt free business. anything near or below 21 is great gain towards 25 dollars. lets repeat our sucess.

GRMN, while this is one of those I regret not buying when it was at 40, it has since gone up 30% and back down to 45.00, its in the middle of no where. I'm afraid this is it and it will start to make a run towards 55 again, but if (I pray) that it comes down to 40 again I myself will definately pick some up GRMN has a huge insider holding and recently slowdown are due to market wide weakness. they still make good money. the saying goes, when market is up stocks tend to be over valued and over bought, but when market is down, stock tends to be under valued and way oversold. so this stock can easily be back to 60-80 in 6-12 months time. consider this another long term.

MVL we know how sucessful Ironman was and the hulk was a bonus too. the last time I hear, the current stock price does not reflect the latest Ironmand and hulk revenues and if so at the very conversative setting. However technically Marvel stock is at a all time high and I see it cannot hold too high for too long. I will wait for a good price in and around 30 dollars before making any attempt to pick this up

disney was a great buy below 33 when market turned red last week. while its hovering around 33.50 for long term towards 39 this is the other stock that kind of go hand in hand with Mvl in my opinion. disney blew everyone away with better numbers last Quarter and considering the slow down in the US, the weak dollar actually is attracting alot of people. and I also remember hearing they have never made less than 150 million per animation film. So look for this to be your long term investment as well.

I recommended starbux (SBUX) when it was below 16, it is around 18-19 and I took profits. yes got out a little soon but I had other opportunities. if it can come back down to 16 I would repeat my sucess

here in another one I kinda looked at but havent decided is VPHM a biotech company 10 dollars. im waiting for it to touch 9 dollars. overall chart looks good to test 25 long term with potential to hit 50. if you have extra cash collecting dust. this is a great way to expand and diversify your portfolio, while other biotech stock is great too but kinda expensive in my opinion.

while AMD has made some great gains in the last few months, when I recommended this as risk 3 months back it was around 6 dollars. now it is near 8.00 I wonder who got in, I got in at 6.44 but got out too soon. AMD is going to end their slumps in Q3 or Q4 and when it happens it will be a double digit stock. I cant compare it to any thing but if I had to guess, imagine it turn around similar to IBM and look at where IBM is today? no risk no gain, do you have the guts to pull the trigger?

Last to note. Gold. gold has been up and down closing, testing and moving around the .38 retracement. I only see it continue to move side ways. I would wait for it to dip to new low when oil collasp past 125 to 100, then we may see 830 or even 800 dollar price gold then it will be time to get in here if your a spot forex trader. meaning, for myself I trade 50 to 1 margin, its actually safer then playing 400 to 1 that is just plain crazy. with 1000 dollars, I can buy 10 units for around 170 bucks. that means if I buy at 800 dollar gold price, I have enough money to withstand price down to 700 dollars yet if it hits 900 I would instantly double my entire account. not bad you say? in reality I actually made a near 6 begger here with 170 dollar investment.

Anyways forex is a whole different ball of wax.

Hey there, quick question, if I own stock in a company and they are bought out by another company how does that affect me. The two companies are Frontier Pacific and they are being bought by Eldorado. I bought FPR at 1.05, will I make or loose money on this

This is what they said in there release

In addition to the original offer of 0.122 Eldorado common shares for each Frontier share -- worth about C$170 million ($165 million) at current prices -- shareholders will also receive one exchange receipt per Frontier share, which entitles them to 0.008 of an Eldorado share.

What do they mean by that, does that mean that for every share I bought at 1.05 is no only worth .008 of Eldorado?

Sorry if this is confusing, but that is the state i am in with this

Thanks

I'm holding PCQ now and still hanging in there with IXS. Will probably flip out PCQ and put some more profits into IXS and BUK eventually to increase holdings there.

JML with a nice pop. News should be out early next week at the latest. Lots of land in the hot Quebec region. Should have a nice move in the next little bit as well.

Fore each Frontier share you will get 0.122 shares of ELD from the offer. The exchange receipt gives you an additional 0.008 ELD shares per Frontier share held (this is what's known as a sweetner), which means that you will receive a total of 0.13 ELD shares per Frontier share held.

ELD closed at $8.26 today, which means that you are currently ahead $0.0238 per Frontier share, although taking transaction costs into consideration, you're probably a bit behind.

One way to verify that every Frontier share is NOT worth .008 of Eldorado is to look at the share prices of each...FRP = $1.00 while ELD = $8.26. If you really were getting only .008 shares of Eldorado per share of Frontier, FRP shares would be trading for less that $0.07 a share (which they clearly are not).

It's part of our automated trading platform. Any broker can put it in as anonymous or iceberg an order. Unfortunately, only brokerage houses can put in anonymous orders.

Trigon? haha potash now? how the hell does that happen.

And yes Uranium still has an awesome opportunity to be big but Oil and Potash are taking the spotlight away from Uranium. I really dont think that U should've been bashed down to half its value in a year.

wow im surprised DOW didnt hold at 12k, none the less you cant ignore opprounities when you see them.

(DIS) disney is awesome now at 32 dollars. it will be 32-40 range

(NOK) with 40% market share, thanks to the weak market, it is not so cheap at 24.20 I see this can rebound to 29-30. Why I see it has bottom out? well technically 24.4 is the lowest it should go as far as retracement.

(THI) tim horton I cant believe my eyes, great buy at 30.20, lowest is 29.95 technically. I see 30-40 dollar range.

(BAC) wait for 22.58 then load up, with one of the highest dividend and history shown it dropped 59% only to rebound to new highs. this may be the 3rd time as it is currently at 26.30, I thought 30 would hold but it didnt. I dont know what you say, but i'm buying more near 22

(MVL) 33.50, wont consider unless I see 30

(MOT) quick downgrades, now at 7.30, 5 years ago, the lowest was 7.33. could this be it? while MOT has its own problems and losing market share. the immediate decline will warrent immediate rebound too when market decides to pick up, I bought in at 9.08 didnt see the downgrade coming, so I average down. so now the trading range is 7-9

(GRMN) garmin, wait for 40, with high insider holding, garmin will rebound from their lows, I would love to hold this long term if I can get in at the right price.

(CAF) amazing that it is holding well above 38.00 while china made new lows on their index. even FXI a similar fund is headed lower. I still have confident any china rally will catapult this back to 50

What is everyones opinion on the EnCana stock right now? Since they announced the split, it gained value. Do you guys think that it will be a winner in the future? Predictions?

benyl

The whole point of the split is to unlock shareholder value.

Like CP before EnCana, the market cap of all 5 companies that were split out of CP far exceeds what CP was together. EnCana is more of the same.

McCain is huge on nuclear power so if he does get elected it will really jump start the Uranium stocks (hopefully)

I've read rumours about them getting into coal. But no one seems to know what the news is.

Apparently a lot of investors don't have much confidence in Livio. I think this could go either way, but I'm thinking more along the lines of a big selloff again.

PCQ PP closed now- 2 placees. I'm sure there will be some upside tomorrow as the gap nearly closed this morning (from top of candlestick, not top of body).

Also GRW into Iron and Titanium....I'm sure the bagholders wish it were shale / coal permits. (POS).

wow market is weak, but I still see oil bubble collasp soon at this lofty heights, the only thing that it can happen is push to 150 than suddenly shorting oil fun will begin.

-Us dollar will be positive when rate hikes starts to curb inflation
-DOW under 12k level, can bounce and trounce on any good news.

Dont panic, patient is key load up on opporunity

BAC can hit as low as 22.58 being down 59% like it did back in 1990 and 2000.

MA/V
Mastercard finally seen 2 weeks ago, it formed negative MACD, head and shoulder and also broken 2 trendlines. it is headed for 225 pending how fast it sinks. Master history did this twice, no different today.

Visa will be dragged down by Mastercard. I would wait to 70 dollars. lowest is 65 then the whole world jumps in.

Nokia was a steal below 25.00 this is way long term folks.

GRMN approaching 40.00 anything near or below is another great long term.

SanDisk at 52 week low pretty much, underbook value and has alot more upside than you think. it has bounce off 20/share multiples thru out the last 5-10 years. look for this to be perfect entry.

AMD, after jumping from 6-8 dollars. now its back to 6 again lol nice. I'll wait for anything in the 5s for a good run. AMD should explode the moment it starts to finally turn a profit in Q3/Q4

For china believers. I still shanghai index to hold and should bounce anytime, this will bring CAF back to 47 short term (current sitting at 38.00) holding very well.

I was surprised with MOT breaking the 8.80 support. and the sudden downgrade forced it down to 7.30. now this is interested level, because I think 5 years ago, it held at this level. So could this be the ultimate bottom for this troubled tech stock? I think so, I have average down to 8 dollars. Go MOT Go for high risk high reward play.

More high risk.reward? try SIRI, FCC merger near and short sellers and downgrade has pushed to new lows at 1.82, downgrade target was 1.75 so are we there yet? I think we are. Sure, satalite radio isnt the future, but XM/SIRI should make a good team short term, subscription rate are still rising despite slower demand. A extremely heavily beaten down stock can suddenly go the other way. thank me later when you see this back at 3 dollars sometime in the future.

DivX should be good at 7.50 (breakout price)

When oil does collasp and does hit 100-110/barrier that would be the bottom. and when it does look to buy USO at around70-80 dollars and hold until it doubles, because oil will resume and go from 100 to 200 price

at the same time Gold spot prices should hit some where in the 800-830 making it a good bet as to test 1030 and potential hitting as high as 1500 a war torn world, gold will only continue to climb as oil climbs

Marvel still refused to collasp, so I will keep waiting until I see 30 or below

Starbux is interesting back at 16.45 I was out at 18, I would rethink this if it can get back below 16 again.

VPHM bio tech, I was waiting near 9, too bad it only got as low as 9.90 now its at 11.28 dam. oh well I still see it hitting 25 one day

cheers
