KFC in Canada is complete shit compared to in the states. In the states they still have biscuits and they don't even serve the shitty ass soggy fries we have here, instead they have tons of real sides such as corn on the cob, green beans, macoroni and cheese, etc. Not too mention its also half the price. I don't even bother going to KFC here anymore, but everytime I'm in the US I hit it up at least once.

nonlinear
08-29-2009, 05:25 PM
^^they also have several different kinds of chicken, like hot n' spicy, extra crispy (my fave), etc. i agree that the sides here absolutely suck. the fries eat hole, and that coleslaw is the nastiest shit i've ever had. we still go occasionally here though, but only when we get the coupons in the mail and then we just get the chicken and make our own sides.

i don't get it though, they always give you dark meat only when you get like 8 pieces... what do you have to do to get a breast? is that something special? last time we went it absolutely sucked. they gave us a leg that was seriously the size of a large chicken wing. couldn't believe it.

From the description on KFC's website, I think it's a real breast filet, not a pressed one.

Had it in LA earlier this year. Surprisingly it wasn't filling as I thought and I'm not a big dude. In the states u can order a lot of stuff "protein style" which means the burger is wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. High on sodium, protein, and probably fat. Like any other fast food it wouldn't be terrible to have it every once in a while.

DDS itself was nothing special. Mine was overcooked and a little too crispy. I'd still rather have a famous star or in-n-out.

thrasher22

Got one in Montana in the summer and thought it kicked ass :D

I'm not known for my healthy habits though, but if you think about it, that's just eating two of their regular pieces of chicken, with a slice of cheese. It's not much worse than any meal you'd eat there...

(to the tune of the original spider man theme song)

Double-Down, Double-Down,
Made like only the Colonel can
Grab a gravy, any size,
Catches up, to your thighs
Look Out!
Here comes the Double-Down!

Is it great?
Listen bud,
It’s got battered chicken buns.
Can it deliver all they said?
Have a bite you fryer-head
Hey, there
There goes the Double-Down!

In the drunk of night
At the scene of a good time
Like a streak of greased light
It arrives just in time!

Double-Down, Double-Down
For your Friendly neighborhood Sanders Fan
Health and common sense
It ingnored
Deliciousness is your reward.

When you’re the Colonel, life is a great big fry up
Whenever there's a fry up
You'll find the Double-Down!

Bah - Double down my ass.

Guys I haven't even had one, but I've been doing this for years now!

My "homemade" double down wastes this.

Ingredients:

1 HUGE boness/skinless chicken breast or two little ones.

2 Medium thickness pieces of applewood smoked ham, or any ham. Toupee works excellent too.

Two swiss cheese OR Provalone slices.

Sugar free Honey Mustard OR Franks Buffalo sauce.

Directions:

BBQ the chicken breast 2-3min/side.

Take off grill and place on toaster over tray. Lay ham and cheese on breast and Broil for 3-5 min until cheese is melty and golden.

When done, slather in sauce and assemble. OR Dip that shit.

My version is much healthier, tastes perhaps better and doesn't kill you.
