Good beaches/lakes in calgary area?

Hey i was wondering if anyone knew about any good public beaches or lakes in the calgary area i could possibly hit up this weekend. Let me know thats

Lake chaparral is nice. not public though

sikome lake is public... but uh, dont go. IF you do, dont go in the water.

It has the 'itch' so if you go in the water, shower afterwards.

yeah not really sure about that lake. Last i heard they had it shut down for a few days for an ecoli threat cause all the birds were shitting in it

Ghost Lake isn't too far out and it's pretty decent. The lakes in Alberta suck though compared to BC.
