Just my opinion, but the lm's don't look good on that car. The factory rims look way better

Yeah i don't know if its angle or bad pic but i agree that the BBS LM's don't look very good on there which is weird because those wheels make any car look amazing. The wing is wrong too. Very nice car still just not a fan of the styling.

Looks good, but like some pointed out the rims don't go with it maybe cause of the lip it doesn't do it justice:dunno:

LM's always LOOK smaller than they actually are simply because of the way the wheel is designed. Having a mega thick sidewall (as seen on these GTR's) also makes the wheel look tiny. Take a look at any LM and note how small the actual spokes are. You might have an 18" wheel but the actual mesh is like 1.5" less than that, making it look like you are running 17's or something. Having the spokes set so far in with mega huge dish also adds to the "shrinking effect".

Correct me if I'm wrong, but both of the GTR's posted above are running 20's right? Sitting on 20's with PROPER daily drivable tires (no rubberband shit).....that must mean that the GTR is one HUGE car (I've only seen a couple in real life so I'm not really sure). I'm just trying to get an idea of what kind of proportions we're dealing with here because my mind can't get around the fact that the 20's look small. Thats crazy!

As long as the owner is happy with it thats all that really matters. Personally I would have rocked some good ol silver LM's on it, but thats me.

Why would he cheap out on some poorly made BBS LM wheels? I would have went with some Sportmaxx's for sure.:thumbsdow

I love the car, on paper. But I just can't get around its appearance, modded or not. One of the best things about driving one of these cars would be that you could experience the performance without looking at the exterior styling.

Is there such thing as a "special front plate?"

What it boils down to = he riced it out. Did nissan stick a huge wing on their car to do the speedy lap at the ring? NO.

Unless the guy is an F1 driver by day, what mods does a GTR need? I would think that the stock car would be more than enough for most owners as it is...

He owns a parts manufacturing company and tuning shop, this car is also a marketing tool. Nismo estimates that 75% of GTR's in North America are modified, part of the fun of owning this car.

Here is the car in track mode
http://www.aj-racing.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/bengtr1.jpg

From Ben:We have been tracking testing our R35 GTR at Pacific Raceways WA on August 26th 2009. Weather was very good and the track temperature is about 26 degrees celcius.

Our GTR R35 is euipped with T1R full exhaust, T1R brakelines, T1R springs kit, AP rotors, Seido-ya N1 500 pads along with Dunlop SP600DSST tires. The T1R S-coils worked very well with the Dunlop tires but it started to oversteer a little after 5 laps. Tire pressure went up from 34psi to 41psi after 5 laps. We may need to re-dial the alignment for the next track attempt.

Track data : Engine Oil temp 104 degress celius (MOTUL 300V), Transmission 105 degrees celius (OEM Fluid) (after 10 laps).

We were satisfied with the laptime of 1:39.44 but we are still a few seconds off our Time Attack S2000 which made 1:37.26. We hope we can break the lap record at the upcoming track test in late September.

Haha, didn't Nissan attempt to try and make the GT-R sort of...un-tunable?

It's not the same one as the one from AJR (Ben's)

Mods:

ARC Ti exhaust
Forged Actuators
Amuse midpipe
Southside downpipe
HKS BOV kit
HKS EVC6 Boost controller
GT Wing
Seibon Front lip
Cobb tuning ECU
BBS LM's
Eiback Pro Spring Kit
6000k bulbs

Should be around 600-650 bhp

dont even begin with him, he's just got an extreme hard on for everything JDM and GTR, and because he thinks everyone on beyond drives a riced honda civic, he's given himself the authority to act like king shit/all knowing savior when it comes to these topics. don;t get me started with his JDM car flipping at his parents house and his amazing automotive troubleshooting abilities.

on a related Vancouver GTR note, idk if it's a repost somewhere:
