Well, I'm kinda wiery about running the QM tonight...damn shes gonna be slow...everyone will laugh, blah blah blah.

Anyways, Just to let everryone know, I will be running her entirely stock, on 87 octane gas. I even removed the Short Shifter and the K&N Filter, and I might change the tires back to the stock 13 lb alloy 13's so I would like everyone to know this is a test for my benefit, so that I can guage exactly what the modifications will do for me as I go.

So yeah, this is important to me...as I plan on keeping this car for a long while and playing around with it.

If anyone sees this going down the track, thats me...

Damn you people...wheres the Love?! AHAHA J/K. Yeah, we all have to start somewhere, thats what I say...and you need to get that first run under the belt so that you can move on to bigger and better things. I've been putting it off for too long. Oh, anyone have a Lid?

He wont let me touch that lid, but its too small anyways.

I wouldn't mind buying just a basic used one...i wouldn't wear it much anyways.

Well, tonight sure was an eye opener!

I did everything I could and could not beat 18.600

I Was expecting times in around there, so it is a good eye opener for me, and a good platform to base my modifications on...

My clutch was slipping, so I was unable to get decent launches, it would drop to 2500 before starting up again, which sucked...but hey, what do you expect for an 18 year old car with factory everything.

I'm not gonna race my car the rest of the year...I have my starting point which is what I came out to achieve, so laugh as you will at my time, it wont be that slow next spring.

My Very First run ever at race city:

R/T- 1.104
60'- 2.583
330- 7.588
1/8- 11.851
MPH- 57.43
1000- 15.551
1/4- 18.719
MPH- 70.57

My Best Time:

R/T- .857
60'- 2.517
330- 7.499
1/8- 11.753
MPH- 57.67
1000- 15.437
1/4- 18.600
MPH- 70.84

My Best Reation time:

.702

My Highest Trap:

71.28

My Best 60':

2.517

Did anyone get an elevation report tonight? I want to correct my times and compare to stock times.

So Yeah, Slow as hell, but hey, you gotta start somewhere!

Okay, I dug up some stock results performed by Road and Track back in 84.

Best Times achieved by them was an [email protected]

http://members.tripod.com/~Jetta_GLi/GLI-pics/r-and-t-table1b-mod.jpg

So using Calgarys Elevation:

Corrected times for Calgary AB: Ideal Conditions, Elevation is 3500'

[email protected]

I am not sure what the elevation report was last night with the humidity, so I'll use this as an example...

Corrected Times with Humidity and Temp: 4450

[email protected]

So with a corrected time of 17.810 @3500, I'm pretty happy with that result, cause I was driving that thing pretty hard...

Now...Let the Modding BEGIN!
