my iphone shut off!!!!

can someone help me. i bought my 3gs in july and now it just shut off! why i cant turn it on?? has this happened to anyone?
i dont want to drve all the way to the store if its a quick fix.

ps i owned four blackberries this has never happened to me before. i bought the 3gs for the media part only ei: photos, ipod, video and internet browsing ect thats the only reason i got it.
this freakin sucks because it has already froze on me a couple of times. i dont have the memory maxed out. i have like 150 songs and 300 pic's so i dont know why this would happen.

The 3GS is overly sensitive to USB voltages than the 3G. Sometimes when you have it plugged in to charge on a computer USB, a few mins later, it'll say "this device isn't compatible with blah blah blah" and it wont charge. It's happened to me on several laptops, my car ipod integration, even the plug straight into the wall USB thing.

Apple is supposed to fix this for the next firmware.

If it was plugged in and it went into this no charge mode, it could've drained overnight.

Just hold the power button at the same time as the home button for a few seconds, it should reset and be good.

Although one time this happened to me, and after rebooting my phone was cleared to factory settings...thankfully I had just synced it the night before or I would have been pretty pissed.

See if Rogers will let you switch it for a Bold maybe? Depends on your plan though..

im with fido i get a new iphone with future shop warrenty no questions asked ill find out tomorrow they say it could be the battery is shot

You maybe just ended up with a defective piece. Just bring it to them and you should get a new one.

My Iphone 3GS has been freezing and locking up this past week a couple times now, but the hard reset has fixed it
