So here goes. After making the big switch to Nikon I have a bunch of gear to list for sale. I'll try to give as best description as possible.

32GB SD HC memory card. As my D3x no longer uses SD HC I have no use for it. I'm not entirely sure what class it is as it was used as the backup card. Manufactured by HP. $80.

Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS Lens - Lens is in mint condition. Was factory serviced in December/January of this year. Is an extremely sharp copy of this lens. $1700.

Canon 24-70 F2.8L Lens - Lens is in very good condition. Was factory serviced in November of last year. I had them change out the contacts and the filter ring. Has a couple specs on the front element but does not effect image quality at all. Is still an extremely sharp and versatile lens. I've had this particular 24-70 for approximately 3 years. The second copy of this lens I have is already sold. $900.

Canon 17-40 F4L Lens - Lens is in mint condition. This lens was purchased I think in June or July of this year from the camera store and is still a baby. Not a single scratch on it. An extremely inexpensive wide angle lens that takes nice sharp pictures. $700.

All three of these lenses accept 77mm filters as well just to clarify.

Canon 85mm F1.2L II Lens - Lens needs no introduction. Nothing any other DSLR manufacturer makes even comes close to comparing to this lens. I would in fact state out right it is one of the most impressive lenses I've personally ever used. The lens is in absolutely mint showroom condition. One of the sharpest, if not sharpest lenses you will ever see. $2000.

Canon 580ex II speedlight - First speedlight is in mint condition and only a few weeks old from the camera store. $450.

Canon 580ex II speedlight - This one was just serviced by canon and should be back this week sometime. In perfect working condition kind of like buying a new one. $400.

Canon 580ex II speedlight - Work horse slave unit. Has slight damage to the front clear plastic due to heat. Unit still works absolutely fine. $250.

Two Canon CP-E4 battery packs for the 580ex II. $100 each.

Pocketwizard Flexx TT5 radio flash system for Canon EOS. Essentially this is Three Pocketwizard TT5s. One as the master, two to control two slave flashes. The master has a damaged hot shoe so it can only be used as a master. The system works flawlessly and I can say I was quite impressed with just how well it works. Selling all 3 for $400. The camera store will sell you one Flex TT5 for $260 just to give you the rough comparison.

Canon 5D Mark II body - Needs no real introduction. This body is just a few months old and has just a couple thousand actuations. $2600.

Canon 1Ds Mark III body - Everyone seems to think since the new 5D mark II has 21 megapixels and the 7D has 18 that they are just as good as a 1D series camera. I think the only people who say that are the people who have never before owned a pro body.

Here are the facts. The image quality with a 1Ds Mark III blows the 5D Mark II out of the water. I personally had a very hard time deciding to switch to Nikon as I love the 1D series.

Right now the camera is getting serviced by canon after the main board had a diagnostic error causing the camera not to turn on. I am also having canon full clean the camera and sensor and check the shutter for any potential issues. Right now I would say there are approximately 50,000 Actuations on the camera and they are rated for 300,000.

If you think the 5D Mark II is just as good as the 1Ds you are very mistaken. In any event I am selling the body for $5000 OBO. I will have it back from Canon in 7-10 days.

There will be other items i'm sure in the coming weeks as well. This is really all I can think of for now. Please pm me if interested or if you more information or clarification on something.

cosmetically it's pretty good. It only has one blemish which is a scrape near the rear lcd. I'm not sure if Canon will be fixing that or not. The camera wasn't working perfectly until the diagnostic error. At least when the camera comes back it will have had a complete servicing through Canon.

Pics or the 70-200 2.8?
what is mid or mint condition? (i'm thinking you meant mint but the "t" and "d" are kinda far from each other...)

Any wiggle room on the price?

I dunno its already like $400 off. It should say "mint" but my keyboard is being a PITA. The lens is in like new condition. It's the lens I just happen to use the least. Canon serviced the lens for me maybe six months ago and at the same time I had the lens calibrated by the Canon techs.

I will be posting some pictures of the items tonight when I get the chance to. The 70-200 though is virtually flawless.

Does your 24-70L backfocus at 24mm on subjects about 10-15 ft away? Every 24-70 I've had (except one) has had this odd behaviour. I'm always on the lookout for one that doesn't do this.

Not that I've ever noticed. I've owned quite a few 24-70's myself and this one was by far the best that I had personally. Some of them have some wierd behaviour and others aren't nearly as sharp.

I will have the 1Ds Mark III back from Canon within 2 weeks. If anybody is interested I'm selling it locally for $5,000. I will be listing it on ebay if there is nobody interested in it by the time it gets back from the Canon service center.

Thanks to all of you who have bought some of the gear off me so far, I really do appreciate it.

You mean 17-40, right? 'Cause I'd buy a 14-70 for $600 in a second!
