Anyone here worked for Blockbuster before or know anyone? I heard their starting hourly wage is $14/hr, which seems a bit high and very surprising. I would think it would be around $8-10?

May be they start high to prevent stealing? Can't see this business model to be around in another 5 years anyway.

Blockbuster is about to go bust anyway.

Netflix is killing them.

girlfriend works for them. been there a year and she makes a bit over 10.60 or something like that. started at 9 bucks if i remember correctly. unless they raised it. if you factor the 10 free rentals a week into it its not bad for a lax job for something to do. during the day they sit around and watch movies lol.

You should look up "MissKat" on Calgarypuck. Apparently it's his sister, or maybe it's his alter ego.

No word of a lie: she posted this twenty minutes ago:

Can someone tell me the best way to quit my ty job? I've been there for 1.5 months now and totally regret even applying for this job in the first place. I want out ASAP! Doesn't help when I'm afraid of the big lady boss. My goal was to follow what most of my friends told me and that was to work this job till I find another. But I can't deal with this BS job anymore.

I worked there back in... 2005 or 2006 ish and the entry level wage for CSRs (basic position) was just minimum wage or slightly above it. Maybe shift leads or store managers make the money you're thinking of.

Maybe in the states, but to my surprise Blockbuster Canada is still doing very well.

You've been there for less then 3 months so you dont have to do anything more then stop showing up if you want.:dunno:

Just tell her at the end of your shift that you dont appreciate the work conditions, the way you're being treated (fill in the rest........) and that [that day] is your last.
At least that way you dont have to deal with anymore attitude of hers on your last day, and your ass is covered.
(who cares about her right?)
