The PC candidate Diane Colley-Urquhart confirms she will put the party before the concerns of the constituents.

Includes short video, which has already received YouTube honours for "Most Viewed (Today) - News & Politics Canada" and it has only been up since midnight.

I assume by the car in your signature that you support the wild rose alliance. Let me tell you why I will NOT vote for them (at least not this ellection).

They asked me twice if I wanted a sign on my lawn.
I said no TWICE.
The day (before they put a sign on my lawn) they came by my house (again, this time to confirm I wanted a sign) and I reiterated NO I do not want a sign.
The next day they put a sign on my lawn anyways, telling my roomate that I requested one.
I got home took it down and called and left a message I wanted a call back.
No one called but they came AGAIN the next day to put a sign on my lawn. This time the roomate said NO as he knew I was, to say the least, unpleased with a sign having been placed without my permision.
They came again asking to put up a sign.
I got a letter in the mail yesterday saying its a tight race and that I should vote wild rose (including a campaign number for any questions)
I spoke to the campaign manager who said it was an error and that Hindman was not at fault, as he was rellying on volunteers

If he can not relly on people to put signs down and not harrass the constituents he wants to work for, how can he be expected to take care of government issues. Not only that he does not take resposibility but puts it off to unpaid help.

Once again this is from someone who untill this fiasco was unsure who he would vote for. Now I know at least one I will NOT vote for.

Hi Wanderer,

Yes, I am a supporter. In fact I am one of the few paid staff; I am the Executive Director for the party.

I was there when you spoke to the volunteer coordinator and I know she appologized profusely for the mix up and I know nothing I could add will change your opinion.

Volunteers are a reality in most campaigns. Very few campaigns have a bottomless source of revenue. Ironically, the PC campaign does have at least $150,000.00 at their disposal and have outsourced their message to a call centre. And as I understand it that is not working out very well for them, so there are drawbacks to hiring people who really don't care about your cause.

Respectfully,
Jane Morgan

Respectfully,
Jane Morgan I find too many ocular similarities between wild rose and the separatist party.

The ASP duct taped a sticker to my mailbox.

Does anyone in your party have more than a bachelors degree?

Not sure where you are getting that notion. Our party resoundingly voted down a motion on separation at our recent AGM. Just as the PC's have voted down similar motions.

That sucks.

Not sure. We are not an elistist party and don't have members submit their CV's to join.

I live down there and will be voting. Still undecided but know that Avalon will not be getting my vote, nor Diane as she is affiliated with Special Ed. I was considering Wild Rose, but after reading this cheesy thread started by a Wild Rose staff member, they are out.

Interesting concept, I mean, this is just one of the most prosperous and volatile economies in Canada...that's all.

Qualifications are indeed the enemy of success.

I might suggest abandoning this thread and discontinuing your attempt at PR. I'm a conservative voter (not just the party, but in theory) and I'm not at ALL impressed with what you're doing here. Stop. Urquart is getting my vote I guess.. her or social credit.

Good job at removing all the doubt I had about your party.

Your answer basically disqualified you from garnering my vote. Someone who looks at hiring people based on qualifications and education as "elitist" is not someone I want running my province.

I'm libertarian in my political stance, and the closest I get to that with any party in this province is the conservatives.

It is only an attempt to reveal the truth. Pretty straight forward.

It is actually worse that she BLAMED the volunteers and did not accept responsibility on behalf of the candidate.

Personally I do not care about which party spent how much on their campaign.

You are correct; she was not able to change my opinion. One or two mistakes are one thing. Multiple "mistakes" resulting in what she called the snowball effect is another. Once the error was realized (which I assume is why they sent someone around to check). It should have ended there.

What upset’s me most is 2 aspects:

1) They placed the sign on my lawn AFTER checking and receiving confirmation I did not want it. They then harassed me and my roommate with additional requests.

2) Not accepting responsibility and the audacity that she would say the candidate had nothing to do with it. My response to that was, that if he cannot handle having signs put up on people’s lawns and not being harassed, how will he be able to handle government.

I am also disappointed that you would respond to my frustration by telling me how much your opponent spent and that from "your understanding" (no facts to back that up) its not working well for them.

I do not know how well it is working for them (or care for that matter). What I do know is they did not harass me like your candidates team has.

Please do not respond to this rebuttal, as I really do not want to get into a debate with you. And you are correct you cannot change my mind. Well that 's not true, based on your parties letter to me (from my recollection) it's a two horse race and if I do not vote for the PC or your part its a useless vote. And since I do not want your candidate, I guess the only way for my vote to count against him is to vote PC.

Hey I guess I should thank you. You have made my decision easier.

The question was "anyone", not hired staff. We have 1000's of members and we don't grill them on their education. We encourage participation regardless of ones postion in society.

Really? With their position on Bill 19 & 44 you can say that with a straight face?

You might find this an interesting read.

What has ended badly and for whom?

As with most political threads it has generated discussion.

If you are referring specifically to the by-election that will be won and/or lost on the doorsteps; not on a forum or facebook or Twitter, etc.

Unfortunately they use the doorstep approach. I do not know how much paper they have supplied me for my recycle bin. Each candidate has provided some (and I have no problem with that).

The wild rose alliance has inundated my house with paper. I think (could be wrong) I have received at least 6 flyers, one personalized letter, and one stupid flippen sign.

Same here. I wish they would stop telling me to send Stelmach a message.

I'm such a flaky voter that just seeing that Dodge Daytona does it in for me.

So what your saying is that if someone photoshoped the picture of the Daytona to say don't vote for Wild Rose Alliance, you'd vote against them :)

Speaking of which I almost did that to the sign they put on my lawn. I was soooo tempted lol

I have very simple and specific criteria that is the sole determining factor of who I vote for in every election:

1) Whoever seems like they will do their best to combat the bullshit from the indians (i.e. ring road fiasco)

2) Whoever puts up the least signs, and annoys me the least in general

Other than that, I don't follow politics nearly enough to make an informed decision based on actual policies, etc. so I'll let the rest of the people decide that haha.

receieved two calls to my cell phone telling me they will they want to offer me a ride to the voting booth.

OK one offer (even though you know I'm voting against you). But why harrass me with 2 calls?
