I recently installed W7 RTM Ultimate and tried to use the key I got with RC, but it didn't accept it. So where am I suppose to get this key?

I don't want it to deactivate after 30 days, is there anywhere around this?

... why would you try to use the release candidate key with the final version?

If you're an MSDN or TechNet member, you can get the key off the website. If you're not, then you'll need to find an alternative means of getting a key... such as buying it when it comes out.

ah icic... I thought the difference between RC and RTM is only the title itself, didn't know there is an actual difference between RC and RTM.

The difference is that RTM is a Release to Manufacturer, so this is the version of windows that will be installed on all new pcs come october 22nd..it is the final version...same as retail, you would need to buy a copy to activate it when it comes out on the 22nd of October
