does anyone know if the 2nd gen MR2'S were made in 1989?? i found a 2nd gen MR2 but it says it was made in Dec of 1989 :dunno:

Its a 90. Anything after august of '89 can be classified as the next year.

In Japan, a December 1989 car is still a 1989 model.

That just means that if you find one, especially through a company like importconcern they can get it into Canada based on production year and month. It may be worth checking out if a JDM car is omething you want.... (and one of the first 89 SW20's produced)

Is the car RHD? I don't believe there were officially any 1990 MKII MR2's in North America (89 was final year of MKI). They were available but rare in Europe, Japan, and possibly down under but 91 was the first year for us. The last year of Canadian sales was 93 while the US market continued on until 95.

Not sure why you would want an 89sw20, might as well just get a usdm 91
