"NBA player Shawn Kemp, for instance, earned $10 million in a year he averaged a pathetic 6.1 points and 3.8 rebounds a game. Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Hampton earned $9.5 million -- in the second year of an eight-year, $121 million contract -- while compiling a 7-15 won-loss record for the Colorado Rockies with a pitiful earned-run average of 6.15. "

ha, funny to see them picking on specific athletes, but its so true.....95% are overpaid and greedy, im sure im not alone when i say its just not justifiable for most of them to be making this kind of money, athletes of generations past wernt like this, they made average salaries, and worked elsewhere in the off-season, like the CFL for example.

Me and a couple friends had a discussion about athletes. The minimum in most pro leagues except the CFL is over $200,000 a year so if you were a shitty player and got bounced around to teams every year but managed to stay in the league for a couple years you still would make good cash.

Shawn Kemp is a waste of money that's for sure....as was Bryant Reeves. $60 million for 6 years and the boy shows up to training camp 60lbs overweight. What happened to him anyway?
