Just use the free one at usedcalgary.com, it gives a little bit of information.

The one I used for this is at the ford fleet website, it decodes the assembly plant. It's free and easy to find on google.
There are lots of free ones online that do a decent job of decoding the VIN for vehicle type, engine etc.
I haven't found any free ones that do accident or registration history. I assume CarProof is the best way for that. It costs about $50 but it's well worth it for used vehciles.
