Thought I'd share my nice new DJ console for all the mobile guys out there :)

Background: I do mobile DJ stuff (weddings, schools, parties, bars, all sorts) and I've rented most of my gear over the years. It made no sense to buy it when I had other DJ companies willing to rent me a rig for next to nothing.

As the company started to get some momentum, I've put money back into it: the website, advertising, and now my very own console! I scrimped and saved to get it just about where I want it. The only thing left won't be available until the new year, which is a scissor-style laptop mount that will be able to fold into the case. SKB is in prototype stages with it right now.

Some of the stuff you see here is a little unique:
1. I got sick of fiddling with my wiring inside the case. Plugging/unplugging wires wears the plugs on my freaking expensive gear, so my solution was a more "permanent" wire job with a patch bay at the rear. Everything is Neutrik D size connectors. The blue one is a special power cable connector.

2. The rack door at the back had to be modified to fit. It's typically meant for screw-in applications, like a 5-RU (rack unit) wood rack. I milled out the screw holes to slots to fit the standard rack.

3. The laptop rack is an Odyssey L Stand. Anyone with this rack knows it's sturdy, but a little bit useless. I got my hands on a 1/8" x 19 chunk of aluminum sheet, drilled mounting holes and a cable hole, tapped, and a couple of cap screws hold it in. Solid as a rock!

4. dbx Driverack PX speaker management computer (limiter, gate, crossover, 12 point feedback suppression, bass synth, 12 band auto-eq syncs the sound pattern to the room!)

Here are the pics :)

Lastly, here is my new Gator GP-40 bag, which is home to my Chauvet LEDrain Par 38-T lights, plus a whole mess of cables, microphones, my headphones, and tools.

The only things left (in my mind, anyways) are to find a use for my two remaining patch ports (I'm thinking a power output for lights and possibly fogger control from my DMX board), and the integrated laptop stand.

This is a KICK ASS setup you got there, that case looks wicked, very well designed and packs everything in there nicely, just wondering, where do you play tunes from? do you do all your music bpm matching with your computer?

Nice to see another Denon mixer user, how much does this thing weigh though? looks pretty heavy.

I do pretty much everything on the laptop. I use MixMeister Pro 99% of the time (have you ever tried beatmatching at a wedding? There's really no point), and Virtual DJ when I need something a little better. I'm not going to pretend I'm some hardcore club DJ. I used to be MUCH better with decks, but not having used a set in a few years, I doubt I'm good anymore.

Haven't weighed it, but I think it's sitting at somewhere around 60 lbs right now. She's a heavy sucker.

Oh, and I love my Denon :D Best mobile mixer evar.

Right on, 60lbs isn't too bad when you only have to carry it all once back and forth. Not too familier with MixMeister anymore, but when I did play with it, seems very capable, and that was a couple years ago, and I guess at a wedding beatmatching isn't the most important thing, I did a bit of a wedding a few years ago for my sister, definitely wasn't needed..lol

Good to hear about the Denon, seems most mobile DJs use Denon mixers more than any others.

As for not being on decks in a while, you should hit them up again, its like riding a bike, you'll never forget.:D

I might not forget, but the wallet doesn't, haha :) I'd like to get Serato one day, it's so much fun.
