Driving down Macleod today I noticed a drive thru place that specializes in Alberta Beef. Its close to where Home Food Inn is located, I think around 50th Ave. It used to be a drive thru coffee booth before, it must of just opened ive never noticed it before. Has anyone tried it?

I always wondered about that place as well. Curious, but never curious enough to stop by. I also wonder how business is for them. I usually see businesses there come and go fairly quickly.

The only way this little place could make money is if it had glory holes on all sides.

Cowtown Beef Shack at 5250 Macleod Trail (403-281-8191)

Looks pretty decent, and I will give them a try when I'm going down Macleod next time.

Will post pictures/short review here :D

Tried the cheese steak today, tastes pretty good. For $8, it's a little bit pricey for a med. sandwich, but they do pack in a lot of ingredients.
Going back for the beef dip tomorrow...

the wife and i tried this place out a couple of weeks ago. i got the beef dip and she got the philly cheese steak. overall, i'd have to say that i liked the beef dip more than the cheese steak.

the owner is a really nice guy. he even gave me a free coffee while waiting for my sandwiches. while the price is a bit high for a sandwich, as previously mentioned, there are quite a bit of beef in there.

will definitely go again!

had the BBQ beef. Yeah it cost $8, but for what you get it's worth every penny. It was amazing. $8 for this or $6 for a vietsub? This wins by a long shot. You get what you pay for people.

Also the place is known for their BBQ beef not their cheese steak. So why everyone is getting the cheese steak instead of the BBQ beef i'll never know. Cheese steak is such an over rated sandwich to being with IMO. *GET THE BBQ BEEF*

there are only like 4 sandwiches to choose from, lol. i'll only be getting the beef dip from now on, though.

the cheese steak isn't THAT bad. i just thought the cheese was a bit rough and gritty. maybe it's just me but if he changes the cheese, it'd taste better.

I just had the pulled pork from this place and it was so damn good. For $8 best money spent for sure.

That cranberry coleslaw dip they put in it, soaks up the bun oh so tasty. I'm anti-carb but I just ate the whole damn thing. :nut:

Yep, great place to get sandwich. Beef brisket is my favourite.

A lot of times I just get half. If I finish a whole sandwich, I will end up dozing an hour later lol.

I loved the philly cheese steak. The pulled pork is pretty new and I haven't had a chance to try that one yet.
