We have found if you go outside the city to somewhere like Airdrie, the prices are far more reasonable for very good care...

^ yeah I go to Big Rock Animal clinic down in Okotoks. Great service and definately reasonable prices

Some of the local venues make my head hurt with their retarded prices.:thumbsdow :thumbsdow

^ Sounds like my old clinic, which was Bow Bottom veterinary.

Care to mention the name to forewarn others?

As far as I know, skip MacEwan vet clinic. Bastard charges me $60 for eye lube which cost $25 on the internet and $40 elsewhere in town.

They are probably feeding/watering her, and walking her a couple times a day to go to the bathroom. If she needs any medications they would administer those as well, but yes they are probably not playing or extensively walking her. But they are also not mistreating her either.

I used to deliever to alot of the vets in the city about 5 yrs ago.

But from what ive heard the Fish Creek clinc is pretty fair in prices and does take very good care.

For the North I would say the best would be Trans Canada Vet clinc. The Vet this is the nicest guy in the world.

http://www.deerfootnorth.com/

Deerfoot North Small Animal Hospital.

We had our dog's TPLO surgery done there, and the service is excellent, and the cost is very reasonable. They also really do love the animals there as well.

Edit..
As an example, we were quoted $4200 for her surgery at the CARE Centre, plus the followup costs a month later for more X-rays etc. At the small animal hospital, it was $2600-$3200, and a lot of the followup visits were included.

They're also about 2/3rd's the price for her Metacam (doggy painkillers) as Harvest Hills.

Considering that there's only 7 surgeons in alberta that perform the TPLO, and they're all good, I think we made the right choice, as Gracie is recovering great.

Low cost vet = oxymoron.

Animal Care Centre in Okotoks is great.

My dog getting spayed only cost $300, $200 less than in the city vets were quoting. So totally worth the drive out there.
