project wrx?

I am considering picking up an older wrx as a project. However i am green as grass and am not sure what to look and look out for other then i want awd. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks guys

One thing i would look out for prior to 2002 model years is a head gasket issue. So check the coolant for oil and when you start the car up, make sure that that its cold and hasent been running for a while. You will get a better idea on the condition of the engine ie: burning blue smoke or valve tick...

Lol get a GC8 JDM, it came awd turbo from Japan and non turbo here, plus they are cheap/reliable
