10.5 hours of sports car racing from Road Atlanta starting at 9 AM Mountain on Speed. The winner automatically qualifies for next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It's one of the three big races of the year, along with the 12 Hours of Sebring and Le Mans. Peugot and Audi will battle it out again in LMP1. In GT2: Corvette, Viper, Ford GT, 911 GT3 RSR, Ferrari 430 GT, E92 M3, XKR, and Panoz!

In LMP1, Peugeot qualified 1-2, with Audi 3-4. Surprisingly, in GT2 the top qualifier was a Ford GT, followed by two Corvettes and then two M3's.

Red flagged due to torrential rain and called before 1000 miles, so it's the shortest Petit Le Mans ever.
Both Peugeots passed a spun out Audi (former F1 driver Alan McNish) to finish 1st (former F1 drivers Franck Montagny and Stephane Serrazin) and 2nd (former F1 driver Pedro Lamy and another driver), with Audi settling for 3rd (McNish) and 4th in LMP1. Not like they needed it, but the winning Peugeot is guaranteed a spot in next year's 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In GT2, a Ferrari 430 (former F1 driver Mika Salo with two other drivers) finished 1st, followed by an M3, a 911, and a Corvette.
