For some reason when I accelerate, the revs come in 'spurts' so to speak, the acceleration is not smooth and its sort of clustered and choppy.
Anyone know what the problem may be.
I have already had the camshaft position sensor replaced.

Do you have a CEL on? See if you can get it scanned somewhere to get a code, then you'll have a better idea of where to start...

i would put money on the MAF or a ignition coil. But you MUST get it scanned first.. it will tell you exactly what is wrong. Peake.com

interesting you mention this.
My e46 has a little stumble, *sometimes*, around 2500-3000RPM.
This is where the "vanos kicked in yo" right? I'm thinking vanos seals then.
Perhaps this is another cause? (NO CEL)

I had this when I first picked up my e36.....there were cracks in the boots that covered the spark plugs. Good place to start if your have no CEL...

Ill check the plugs..
Motorwerkes scan of CEL revealed no problems (with excepection to the replaced CSPS)

Could also be something as simple as tune-up components needing replacement i.e. plugs/air filter/fuel filter. On alot of BMW's after the early 90's, the fuel filter gets neglected alot of times due to its location and not-so-easy to replace quality....
I'd be inclined to rule out a faulty MAF or coil as either one of those *should* throw a CEL, especially on an OBDII vehicle....
