This V6 has more power than the last V8...

I would be happy to see it in V6 turbo-diesel though.

One for the vehicles we're looking at to replace our 2004 4runner. I heard there's no white though :( that's a big one for us lol. I heard Toyota almost scrapped the 4runner.

Redlyne, have any idea when the 2010 Gx is coming out, or what it will remotely look like? It's another Car we're looking at to replace our current Toyota.

You've got to be kidding, I'll keep my previous body style with the V8, you guys can have that ugly looking thing with it's V6.

Very nice! Is the new Taco going to have this front end as well?

I'm not sure about the exterior yet, but the interior seems to be a big improvement.

One thing I am surprised about is the transmissions. 4 speed auto on the I4 and 5 speed auto on the V6? Is it still 1999?

Even Ford and GM offer 6 speed autos on many lower-end I4 and V6 equiped vehicles.

Just seems really odd. You think they would at least do it for the mpg improvements. :dunno:

it has the same sort of lines as the new GMC Terrain.

Pretty nice though.

Toyota's take on the H3? The fender lines are almost exact, except for they are smoothed out a bit.

that has an ultra cheap look to it, very Toyota like.

lol i agree. maybe this will grow on me. previous generations of 4runners were always instantly appealing.

Not a huge fan of the look. Especially the interior. Maybe I'm just biased toward my previous generation. I will give it a test drive though, have to exhaust most options before clunking down money on a vehicle. There's nothing wrong with a V6 though, The 2004 V6 had more horses than the V8, and some people don't need a V8, so why not?

I know X3 does, can't really think of a real SUV that still does. Although I have heard the old 4Runners were a fun ride with the manual trans.

Off the top of my head:

Toyota FJ Cruiser
Hummer H3
Jeep Wrangler
Kia Sportage
Porsche Cayenne
Volkswagen Tiguan
Ford Escape
Mazda Tribute
Hyundai Sante Fe
Jeep Liberty...I think
Nissan Xterra

Quite a few out there, but some of them are sort of specialised:

IE - FJ/Wrangler Off road biased sort of
Cayenne/tiguan onroad biased.

Nice looking truck.

The interior looks a lot like my old Nissan Titan.

The gutsy DOHC, 16-valve 2.7 makes 157 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque.

And it's just about 5k lbs.

what a waiste of an option. I understand putting a inline 4 into a small honda suv, but not a big 4x4 like this which was always known to compete with nissan for top 4x4 suv in there class.

Edit:Fixed my horrible typo's

No you didn't ;)

I do like the new look, very "chucky" and "rugged". The interior I don't mind as well.
