Registering a vehicle

Do registries take photocopies of a bill of sale or does it have to be an original? Just wondering because I'm buying a vehicle in Edmonton and I'd like to try and get it registered here and then not have to worry about doing it when I pick up the vehicle.

I'm pretty sure a copy will be fine.

Photo Copy of the Bill of Sale should be fine and a Fax of your Insurance Pin Card will be ok as well

A photocopy is fine as long as it is a bill of sale. If the owner fills in the back of their registration and gives you that, the registry will need to see the original.

**If the vehicle is brand new, they will require the original NVIS
