Interesting. a detuned 2ZZ-GE... so I wonder what happens to the Corolla S? Does the XRS replace it or slot above it?

It's about time Toyota stepped into the scene. They've been out of it for such a long time. Everything of theirs is underpowered and overpriced.

I have the Road and Track where they did the coupe comparisons between Prelude, GSR, GTI, 2.5RS, Eclipse GT, Cougar V6, and Celica GTS. The Celica GT-S only had handling and braking going for it. It actually has a top speed of 129mph (Redline limited). It was the slowest of the entire group with the exception of the 2.5RS. I wouldn't expect much better from the Corolla.
