Violation Ticket

On my speeding violation ticket it states my court date, if I so choose to plead not guilty is on Monday October 12 (Thanksgiving)

What should I do? and is there someone I should contact (besides the issuing officer)

Send your not guilty plea by registered mail - take a photo copy of the ticket and send the original.

I think he's maybe wondering why they would have a court date on a holiday.

It is a mistake. Before your first appearance call call down to the courthouse because I'm not sure of the procedure, but the ticket will be quashed.

After that the officer has 6 months to reissue the ticket.
