I'll leave it up to somebody else to actually preview the race, I'm just putting this up to plan. This one's Saturday night at 11pm so it's about time all the slackers who haven't been showing up to the 5am races get over to rage's for some drinking and douchebaggery.

Just spoke with Haysen, we're going to try and make this a little more exciting.

6pm - Friendly $20 buy in poker game starts
7pm - Flames @ Oilers game starts
10:29pm - Poker game must end by then
10:30pm - F1 pre-race
11:00pm - F1 race

I'll provide Pizza and a few beers.

If you are looking to attend, please confirm by adding your username to the thread. Please only confirm if you are sure you can attend, because I'll need to arrange food/drinks.

Thanks!

I'll be back this weekend, I plan on reclaiming 1st place in the pool :D... My work schedule got shifted around and now I have to work on Sundays (early morning shifts), should have no problem making it Saturday night!

We are both playing catch up now... Our battle to end will be just as exciting as the F1 battle.

I would show up if my car was actually in working condition. It isn't, and busses don't exactly run at 2 am o_O

So, I'll just wave my Button/Brawn flag from the room here as usual :D

That's what the PVR is for.:poosie: I went to go watch Singapore last night and my PVR recorded 2:45 of a test pattern. I caught two frames of a GP2 driver showering himself in victory drink and then just a test pattern.

Fuck Shaw. Fuck TSN. Fuck Motorola. Fuck me for not doing a backup recording on Speed.

Hmmm, maybe I've got a legitimate shot at yelling at Shaw then.

yeah I've gotten fucked by PVR before too.
Now I record using 2 different providers, Speed and TSN, extend time by 1.5 hours.

Well I'll try recording Suzuka despite watching it live and see what happens.

I had the exact same problem, recorded the last two races on PVR (HD) to come back and find it recorded 1 second of the show then the standard off-air picture for the next two hours....

I have a feeling it might be a result of how my system is setup. The PVR runs though a receiver with HDMI in and outs which might mean I have to keep on the receiver to record. Hopefully, that is all it takes.

buh_buh
10-01-2009, 03:27 PM
don't you have to keep the receiver on to record anything? I just never turn mine off.

Mibz
10-01-2009, 04:24 PM
No, the PVR gets everything it needs straight from the cable and will automatically turn itself on for recordings if you've got it off. If the PVR has been programmed you could theoretically unplug everything except the cable and power and it would record what you wanted.

I thought this was missing something.

Is anyone getting a stream on Speed HD? I normally watch it on there, but there's no broadcast.

Post-qualifying update: There are several changes to the Suzuka grid following penalties issued to drivers. Brawn's Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, Force India's Adrian Sutil and Renault's Fernando Alonso all drop five grid places after being penalised for not slowing for yellow flags following Sebastien Buemi's crash in Q2. Buemi has also been demoted five grid places and reprimanded by the stewards for causing the incident and then driving back to the pits in his damaged car. In addition to those penalties it is understood that McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen and Force India's Tonio Liuzzi will be given five-place penalties for changing their gearboxes.

those who picked webber better change their picks

rage2
10-03-2009, 02:45 PM
PM's sent!

As for my picks, I'm *VERY* tempted to take Vettel out and give Hamilton the win. Suzuka is a fairly tough track on engines, and I think Vettel's gonna blow his today.

edit - no guts no glory!!! LOL
