My first thought was wondering, if indeed he had been injured, that maybe if he had a stock hood he would not have been injured.

(The hood being a vital part of the front crumple zone, designed to fold up instead of shatter, etc..)

I was cruising Crowchild/Glenmore/Sarcee tonight and didn't see anything.

Roads were nice and empty though. :)

I was driving by the area last night around 8:50pm. There were about 10-12 cars all pulled over... Looked like a chain reaction sorta accident.

A 1km down the road at the onramp for crowchild there was another accident with 3-4 cars.

It was pretty hard for me to see tho, because it was dark and my windshield is tinted

My bet is that it was an EJ6 and not an EK9, but whatever ;)

EJ6 is the chassis code for 96-00 civic hatchbacks in north america.
Japanese market civics of that year are EK Chassis codes.

Kinda like how your civic is not an EG6 but rather it is likely an EH2

If your civic had a b16 swap you could at least say you have an EG6 motor, but I don't think you even have that, so EG6 is entirely false for a chassis code on your car.

some people choose to only generalize the chassis codes but it's good to actually know that you are generalizing them incorrectly.

its like how when the fast and the furious first movie came out everyone would generalize "nitrous" as "nos"
when nos is a name brand but isn't correct when talking about another brand.
some people would call it nos because it was a cliche thing to say and other would call it nos because they didn't bother to find out what they were talking about.

so how're you supposed to distinguish between the coupe, sedan and the hatchback? The "EJ6" is described in all three catagories:
Coupe EJ6: Canadian DX and DX-V
Hatch EJ6: Canadian CX/CX-G/DX/SE
Sedan EJ6: Canadian EX/LX

To most people, the EK series is most commonly known as the hatchback civic from 1996-2000 (Even though it's wrong). I didn't know that the EK9 meant the CTR from japan. I'll admit that i was one that didn't know that the hatch in canada wasn't an EK. Look all over beyond aswell. Everyone classifies their 96-00 hatch as an EK. Just like how my car is describes as an EG6. Still wrong but everyone says that they drive an "eg".

I can appreciate that, It's more of a FYI than anything.
I generalize the chassis codes a lot as well, but the correct codes are useful to at least know and recognize.

I think it's fine to label a hatch as EK, but when you add the specific engine detail code to make it EK9 that's when people will call you out on your chassis codes.
