Are those aftermarket? Or are they from the factory like that?

They're stick-on things that the guy slapped on over the factory calipers.

 How can you not feel like an utter and complete fool having those...

Although, one of my recent issues of Super Street featured RE Amemiya's Genki 7, which had RE Amemiya ORC-look plastic caliper covers on the rear - which I could understand for matching looks with the front..however I still don't really understand this trend. Pretty soon people with tiny 4-bangers will be installing large photos of v8's under the hood to make people think they have one.

I jbwelded an engine cover out of a 300C into my civics engine compartment.

I cant change or top up my oil anymore, but it was soooo worth it.

Watch for my thread coming soon:
WTB: glass hood.

I own a couple of sports cars (one with red calipers and one without) and I'd personally never do this. Infact I have yet to add anything to any of my cars. With that being said, I really dont see what the big deal is. Maybe I'm missing something here...

Is there a logo on something that I'm missing written on the caliper? Brembo or something? So he's pretending to have brembos when he doesn't? If that is the case I understand.

If not I dont really see how this is any different from 99% of the people on beyond. You guys buy new rims and bumpers and carbon fiber lips and spoilers, for what reason? Asthetics right? Or do you really think that having a carbon fiber lip addition on your car is actually making it run a lap faster? If he's doing this for Asthetics there is no difference. Telling me that he's an idiot for covering his ugly calipers is like me saying your lame because you've painted your car. Why not just leave it as bare metal? Or just a clear coat to protect from rust? Why add a spoiler when 99% of the cars on the forum have absolutely no need to generate more downforce? I can go on and on.

Again, if its the logo that is the problem, I understand. If not you guys are a bunch of hypocrites.

Its funny and people are making fun of it because those look like complete shit. I rather have stock "ugly calipers" then putting on those cheap plastic covers. They don't even form to the shape of the calipers it just looks like a slip on. He problaby couldn't afford the covers that said "brembo" on them.

Just tacky!

Fair enough.

Asthetics is a very subjective thing. I would say that he probably thinks it looks nice and good for him.
