View Full Version : Did the city spray the streets today?

Coming home from work just now, I didn't see any on the grey asphalt on Deerfoot, but the nice new stuff on the exit to Glenmore West was covered with, what looked like, calcium chloride.

Anyone else notice any around town? If they're spraying already, it's time to put the summer ride away :(

i'm pretty sure the city didn't spray deerfoot, since maintenance on deerfoot is not the city's responsibility.

I saw a truck dumping salt/whatever on the streets saturday morning.

It was dark so I didnt' see what they were dumping but some bounced off my car :(

Doubt it, probably just testing since this is the first snow (technically). The ground should still be warm enough to melt snow on contact for a few more weeks.

That he didn't answer any part of my question. I really don't give a shit that Carmacks takes care of Deerfoot, and I didn't say there was any spray on Deerfoot, but that it was on the off ramp. Also knitpicking like that is fairly useless to the question/thread.

Calcium Chloride is an ice melter, not gravel.

They were spraying Southbound Deerfoot on Sunday at 12:45ish right after the Calf robe. I drove by the truck spraying something redish that most clearly was not salt or sand.

Worse. Hence why my summer ride is now in hibernation. Even when it warms up again, if it rains then it'll spray all that crap on the undercarriage.
