One of my good friends John just bought this cute little guy! I know it's not a spotted by me on the street type thing but I thought I'd share considering our lack of cool cars up here :(
Here's what he had to say in his email about the car:
"I have just bought a small sports car, to make the drive a bit of fun, and that has helped a lot. It also saves me a fortune in fuel as it does 24kms to the litre.
I've attached a photo so you can drool over it. It's a Mercedes - Smart Roadster, with some modifications by Brabus. It has a Turbo Charged 698cc 3 cylinder engine and it goes really well. Top speed is about 160 kms per hour, which is way more than I need. The road holding is phenominal, and overtaking really is 'fast and fun, as it seems to be in the power band at 110 kms / hr."

These cars have been around forever.
When you say "smart car", people think there is only one. Infact, there are 3+ models.
Not too sure why he's adding mercedes in there? To make it sound cooler?

Oddly there's a couple on the gov't of canada dispersals auction website... Too bad they're for export only (complete with having to pay CBSA staff to verify the loading into shipping container - and watching it get loaded onto a freighter).

:werd: I saw a ton of them when I was over there. Somewhat grotesque looking IMO. Not only that, it still shares the same horrid looking cockpit.

i think they look dope. I was over there last summer and i saw a few tuned out in Italy, more specifically rome. Wheels, exhaust, lowered .etc and they looked GOOD!
but i guess to each their own taste correct?

I did a bit more searching and found this one. That dropped hatch actually improves the lines quite a bit, looks good! Apparently not much of a driver's car though..
