That's not a good ticket.

Why the hell were you doing 130KM/H in an 80 zone? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

So I gots to ask why yuriH22 was doin 130kph+ in a 80 zone? Usually 80 zones are such because of the localized road conditions/topography in an urban setting or because it may be a secondary highway in a rural area.

Never the less, either yuriH22 was in a hurry because of an emergency or yuriH22 was just out there letting off some steam. If it was an emergency, then he'd still really have to confidently present his case in court (someone possibly dying in his vehicle) - wife in labour probably won't cut it. On the other hand, if yuriH22 was just blowing off steam (having some fun), then they'll be at the court's mercy.

I hope your license is suspended.... i know of someone else who had to hire points just to ensure this didnt happen.

But hopefully your license is suspended. You deserve it for being such an inconsiderate prick.

The officer wouldn't give you a break for 3 kilometers per hour? Were you a total jerk to the cop? I would have been pretty nice to him and asked him to drop it to 49 if he could.

Well, maybe the cop was actually doing his job. Maybe the court will reduce it, once again making a deal, and someone driving like a douche won't learn their lesson, and probably drive like a douche again...and the cycle continues....

Call points or find someone who specializes in speeding tickets, they should be able to help cut you a deal. A court date and no ticket isn't a good thing.

As for everyone flaming him, we've all done stupid things and I'm not encouraging it in any way, 130 in an 80 zone is pretty ridiculous.. but it seems like everyone seems to pop up from nowhere to start flaming. I guess I should zip up my flame suit now too haha.

Meh, I've seen lots of 80 zones where 130 wasn't that much :dunno:

Your looking up to a 3 month suspension and basically a 500+ dollar fine + 6 demerits.

Was your driving record clean previous to this?

We've all done things like that from time to time. Don't pretend you haven't. Especially guys on here with crotch rockets

Look at Glenmore, it's 80km/h but could probably easily be 100km/h without issues. Easy to speed there.

I'm not excusing the OP, but all of us have done stuff like that before. We were just lucky we didn't get caught.

Crowchild for one...
I got busted a few years back, when i was younger and dumb, for going 112 in a 60 and i was respectful to the cop, so he let me off with a 109 in a 60 instead. Saved me the mandatory court date, but i guess your just SOL. Solitary confinement FTL.

I had a 50kph over on the bike last month

Thank god they didn't read off the total speed off!!!

$500 ticket and kept my licence.

Its so easy to speed on a bike.

Well I am not proud of this but i got a ticket just outside of Airdrie ..Construction Zone to boot. I havent had a ticket snice 2001, anyways i thought the construction zone was finished so I got clocked doing 131kms in a 80zone .. Cop was somewhat nice, asked me if i have never been to court I told him no, and he told me I should hire somebody to fight this for me.

Long Story short i hired "fight that ticket" I had to take a drivers course that was full of ppl with DUIs (made me feel pretty dumb getting that ticket) then I got my ticket dropped from a 2000 dollar fine 3month suspenison and 6demrits to 351 dollar fine .. 4dermrits (but that course drops 2 right off) and I got to keep my licence

fight that ticket cost me like 650dollars (well worth it)

50kms over the judge will want your licence no matter what. I am telling you from experince go hire a lawyer or somebody who knows how to fight your ticket.

so it ended up costing me 351dollar ticket, 2demrits, and 650 for fight that tickets cost

your not gonna get out of this for cheap thats forsure, stuff happens, before this ticket I had a totally clean record for like 8years

 That's the best advice you have? How about NOT doing 50 over the limit?? lol
Do 20, 30, maybe even 40...

... he gave solid advice for the situation on hand, you on the other hand felt it necessary to try and make the OP feel like more of a dumb ass then he already does

Where abouts did you hit this speed?

People flaming this guy should really think long and hard if they have ever exceeded the posted speed limit by 50 or more over. Not that I am condoning this type of driving especially not where you can do harm to others but it's probably safe to say that 9 out of every 10 beyonders at one point or another have done this sort of thing. Just my $0.02

FYI:

Any traffic offence that the officer feels puts the public in danger, or the officer feels that it is in the publics best interest, can issue a "part 2" ticket....that is the pink ticket. Anything from 51km over and up is an automatic court appearance.

If you get a pink ticket, you are in trouble. It is also a summons. If you fail to appear on the court date given, you will have a warrant issued.

Been there - did 245 on an 80k secondary highway 20 years ago on my crotch rocket (85 FZ750). Don't go 245 any more (no crotch rocket around now) and don't feel the need to any more - sux to be the OP though.

You're first mistake was... you already know; your second mistake was posting up on beyond to ask what to do about it. Open the phone book and call a driving defense lawyer unless you want to lose your license. Even if you don't hire one you can talk to the person who answers the phone who is usually an expert in traffic defense for free.

And to all of the honourable souls in this thread who are flaming this guy for speeding on a rural highway - likely in the middle of nowhere - I hope you have an ass ram in your seat hooked up to your speedometer that plugs you every time the needle creeps over 110.

How about crowchild trail (between 32ave all the way to nose Hill)... thats like what ? a 10km stretch of road with no lights?? 132km/hr at 2am on that road might be considered slow to some ;)
