how do you make something transparent? i have a project for school and i need to make an image transparent.
I'm assuming you're using photoshop...
go to your layer window and select the layer you wish to make transparent, then in the top right corner of the layer window there is an Opacity box. Change the opacity from 100% down to around 50% or so. Also you should try playing around with the type of layer it is, try a screen or color dodge layer instead of normal. Play around with these settings until you get the results you're looking for.
