New wheels on the BMW! Woooo!

Sorry for whoring up my pics in this thread lately but im really exciting that i finally got my new wheels/tires on! I love how they look. I had extremely worn out tires on my M6 reps and when i got these with brand new tires the difference was night and day!

I have fallen in love with my car again!! I got painted reflectors on the way as we speak!..


Mods completely as of today:

Aero lip
M3 rear lip spoiler
Black kidneys
Black lower grille/mesh
Black window trim
Debaged
35% tint all around

Next mods coming up..

KW V2 Coilovers
Mtech kit w/ CF quad diffuser
Quad tips
Angel eye upgrade!

All which will be completed hopefully over winter since i won't be driving it.

The m6 wheels are okay, they have way too much open space between the spokes though. I get sick of black wheels very quickly. I'm sure ill go through a few set of wheels in the next couple of years. For now im satisfied. :thumbsup:

Wow, some harsh critics for some pretty sick wheels!!!

Look great IMHO, however, after spending so much money why didn't you get a more aggressive offset on the rear. Even if you lower the car, your rears don't sit anywhere flush at all. Good news you can correct the problem with spacers, I just think its a bit of a waste after spending such big cash to get such a great wheel. Great looking car otherwise.

I would agree. It's hard to justify spending so much money on a nice set of rims that require spacers. If I'm spending $4k+, the wheels better fit the way I want without spacers!

Thanks, ya Thats not my car haha. If you look at the sig you will see that the car is widebody. Look at the rear. I just needed something temporary since i didn't have my wheels on when i made that sig. The car had same wheel/color ect. :)

Their not e46 fitment but yes i do need spacers. They aren't perfect but i don't think the fitment is AS bad as everyone is making it out to be. I want them to be more flush but nothing too crazy because i plan on going pretty low and don't want to roll my fenders. Yeah as of now it seems like any other lightly modded 335i. I plan on changing that soon.

Are you running spacers for your CSL reps?


Everyone else - Thanks for the comments/suggestions. Its a work in progress. The car will look a lot different come spring with lots of mods on the way!

He's right about BMW eliminating the C. Before 2006 the "C" was used to define whether the car was a coupe. If it just an "I" it meant it was a sedan. X drive has been around for a while now. a "335i" can now either be a coupe or sedan so they are now commonly refered to as e92/e93 (coupe/convertible) or e90 (sedan) The x means it all wheel drive.

Nice. I suggest you get the Euro wide-angle side mirror glass for both sides. Euro mirror glass does not have the stupid warning message "objects may be closer than they appear." The housings don't change, just the glass.

Guys i totally get what you are saying, authentic is always better. Better build quality, usually strong and lighter. Yes, They aren't real. Is a real set worth it imo? No. I actually didn't post what brand the wheels were because i wanted to see if people could spot that they weren't real BBS wheels. No reason to hate though.

There are a lot of members on this forum that are running replica wheels and nobody seems to make a big deal about that. There are a few on here that have CSL replicas or even people that have sunk thousands in performance upgrades are using "cheaper" or "rep" wheels. Not to mention hundreds of other BMW drivers that i've seen on the forums that run reps with no issues.

It's not the fact that i couldn't afford an authentic set of BBS LM's its just that i can't justify paying an extra $2000 or more for a set when i can use that money towards something better like a tune or into a set of coilovers. I wouldn't put cheap chinese tires or shitty lowering springs on this car but i did feel like the wheels were good enough for what i am using them for.

I had authentic BBS CH wheels for my M3 and decided to sell them because i wanted to use the money else where towards the car and i took a huge hit because they were used. I doubt these will be a set that i will use for years and years, i just wanted a nice change and these were perfect. I just need some spacers for a flusher more aggressive look.

If you were to ask me on the street if they were real, i would tell you that they were replicas. I have the BBS caps because i can't tell you how ugly the original ones that came on the wheels were. (If you don't believe me i'll post a pic)

Bottom line, i love them and its my car so really you can hate all you want. :D

I don't think anyone is claiming that you lied. But with held the truth, to benefit yourself. Which in some peoples opinions is just as bad.

The challenge is that you posted new wheels with a trademarked logo, but did not make reference to the fact that you were using the TM logo to falsafy your product.

If someone wants to rock reps, fine, just don't run bbs centercaps. If the ones that come with them are ugly, fine, get new ones. Just not BBS ones.

fair enough. Yes the car has HIDs I strongly recommend these cars, not just because I own one but because I think it's a great value for what they are. Is he buying a new one?

With a tune and a few upgrades they make some serious power, tons of torque. Tell him to compare it to an m3.

No complaints from me so far but things to watch out for if he's buying used is the HPFP and oil cooler issues. 2008 and up have them, I believe 07s don't. Silver is kind of boring, esspecially if he's keeping it stock.

I am glad you are happy with the wheels, I love LMs and the offset isn't as bad as everyone else has said.

The issue is that you subtly tried to pass them as real. That's the only issue that anyone has. There are a lot of high quality wheels that are 1/2 the price of LMs.

Thanks, i didn't try to pass them off as real because i never said they were BBS. I didn't mention what brand they were. I guess if i have the caps that say BBS and they aren't, that could be considered myself trying to pass them off as real. However i did admit that they are not authentic.

I later mentioned they were reps since nobody knew for sure or not whether they were or not. YOU seem to have more issue about it than anybody else.

and you can thank replica's for that... haha. This happens in all industries though... but seems especially bad in automotive parts.

It sucks that BBS loses business to replica wheel manufacturers, causing them to have financial troubles. BBS makes a great, high quality wheel in the BBS LM, but it also comes with a high price tag due to the costs associated with manufacturing such a wheel. That is why I understand people want replica's, they give a similar design without the price tag, simple as that. Many people even buy the replica's and assume they have similar everything, beyond just the looks of the wheel, which is obviously not true. That being said, you have to really really love the LM's to pay the price for a set of them!
