Well technically an EH3. Here's my Honda. :D

It was stock when I bought it last September, so I won't bore you with progress pics. Here's its current state though.

I'll skip the odds and ends and get to the good bits. Stock D16Z6, ACT HDG6 clutch, GReddy 15g kit at 11-12psi, eBay intercooler, eBay SSQV (fins taken out so it doesn't queef, it just whooshes), RC 370cc injectors, Motorola 2.5bar MAP sensor, Phearable ECU and basemap, eBay resonator cat delete, Vibrant Streetpower flat black catback. That's all I'm doing to the engine (or so I keep telling myself).

I'd like to get the thing tuned before winter sets in for good, but I can wait til summer if I have to.

Wheels are 15x6.5" Rota Grids in full royal sport bronze.

Back in May in Yellowknife.

Engine bay... My splash tray never really did its job.

The injectors and turbo I have right now are enough to max out the stock bottom end, and I'll probably just leave it like this for a while.

Suspension wise I'd like to get something going next summer. Basic coilover setup. Other than that, drive it. :D

No problem. :D

Single stage, 800 bucks with full prep, etc.

No runs, no fisheyes, orange peel is minimal (I've seen worse on brand new vehicles).

Only thing they forgot to mask were the license plate lights in the tailgate, but they still light up pretty decently.

All I did was some finishing on the rear quarters and then shot them with some primer so that they wouldn't start to surface rust. I had a guy weld those in for me.

You don't want me doing bodywork on your car.

Well this was back when I had that little eBay boost controller that spiked to 12 and then fell on its face all the way down to 8. I've since gotten a turbosmart controller that spikes (but just a little) to about 14 and then stays steady at around 13. So I'd expect the peak torque to be just a little higher, and the whp a bunch higher if I just popped it on again for a baseline run.

It's a TD04H-15G, spools fast, torque piles on really quickly.

Torque vs Boost. They both nosedive after spiking.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l5/SentrySuperIII/1992CivicSi/IMG_2849.jpg

Horsepower vs Boost. Since torque dove in the upper revs horsepower stayed flat instead of continuing to climb to a peak.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l5/SentrySuperIII/1992CivicSi/IMG_2847.jpg

If someone in town has a dyno day in the summer some time and runs are cheap I'd probably run it again just to see what a difference a real boost controller makes vs a cheapie. :)

Oh yeah and it made 24 pulls with little cooldown time in between and nothing blew up, so it's a pretty solid setup. :bigpimp:

you should have no problem with a mostly stock gsr hatch. my old sirII b16a used to give them a decent run and it was making 154/109 (191/135 crank)

plus, your gearing is better.

Been picking up some goodies for the next motor/to install before the season starts. Nothing compared to last year's pile, but still a pretty decent haul. :)

http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/7254/img2977e.jpg

Shifter bushings to take the slop out... Still need a linkage.
AEM adjustable cam gear... FREEBIE!
Red valve cover with shaved lettering... FREEBIE!
Plugs
Rotora Axxis Ultimate front pads
ARP head studs
My wastegate + another wastegate I'm in the process of chopping together for more adjustability... FREEBIE!
(Not Pictured)Oil drain flange for the next engine's pan... FREEBIE!
In the Skunk2 box, OEM suspension from a Civic SIR, 1.4" drop springs, and Integra Type R rear LCAs.
In the Honda bag, some odds and ends I needed.

I also got a tip on a part number from one of the turbo D16 guys for a Mitsubishi oil filter that'll thread onto and seal on my block... That's like 2.5 times the size of the OEM Honda filter.

Hope to be back in business with a SOHC ZC soon. Til then I'll continue beating the dying Z6... Gotta get my last kicks in.

EDIT: Little peek in the S2 box.

Update time!

LOTS of work in the last week.

Sunday the D16Z6 seized, so my cousin and I swapped in a D16ZC he had. Started and ran, but there was a CEL, a coolant leak, and a backyard rigged distributor.

Monday I went to picknpull and got the proper distributor, then went back to my cousin's. We put that in, fixed the coolant leak, then cleaned up the aftermath of a dirty, dirty swap.

Tuesday in school I replaced a caliper that was leaking a bit. Later I dropped by dynomotive and Toma turned off VTEC in the ECU for me so that it doesn't throw a CEL anymore.

Wednesday in school I started a suspension install, got the fronts completely done with 10 minutes to spare, so we started to do one corner of the rear and of course an LCA bolt snapped.

Today we only had 2 hours in the shop so I had to bust ass to get it drivable again. Took a combination of sawzall + die grinder + air chisel to get the job done, but it's on the road for the weekend. Currently lowered at 3/4 corners hahaha.

Tuesday it'll be that last corner, a GSR rear sway, then outer tie rod ends if we have time.

Here's a shot of the new engine. It's a D16ZC non-VTEC. And it moves. :)

http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/8263/img2994n.jpg

When I'm done messing around I might get Renee to detail the bay, cause it needs it, bad.

Look at all that room for A/C :P

I like how you monitor EGTs

Sorry I couldn't do your suspension install bro, try to heat up that bolt, sometimes you get lucky and the bushing dies first and the bolt comes out.

Do you monitor AFRs? Wouldn't want to blow up another motor because of a tune that was done for a z6.

Nope, plan is to get a sub 300 dollar beater to drive around til I'm done with the new motor.

Then try and sell the beater for 1000 bucks. :burnout:

Sorry to hear about the car dude, but as always its a good excuse to rebuild her better than ever.

For what it's worth I just got a d16 bottom end superkit from FJ distributors with custom length rods and vitaras.... getting great reviews on the d. Showed up last week and it all looks really good.

Yeah I think the FJ kit will treat me good. Mine ships out Monday.

Played with it a little in the parking lot this afternoon. I was getting funny looks standing in the bay heaving out the head + intake together.

Bunch of stuff unbolted, nothing taken off yet.

Turbo!

Another shot of the little hole in the front.

Head + intake off. I was happy as fuck when I found I could reach the bolts on the intake bracket from the top of the car... Really didn't want to haul out a jack and stands to the parking lot.

D16A6 block is notched. Still waiting on my internals so I can test assemble and make sure everything clears... Then a quick hone and off to the machine shop for a tanking.

Thumbs up to U-Wrench for letting me make noise+mess in their shop instead of in my dorm room. ;)

Oh and of course I didn't notice the big god damn smear on the lens until after I got back from the parking lot. A good 6 minute walk away.

you wanna borrow a d16 FJ rod to size up for a few mins some night this weekend or next week??

It will get you off and running a bit quicker I'm all for dropping by with the box of rods.

Let me know.

That sounds great! UPS says my order won't arrive until the 13th. And that really means something like the 15th.

Things are coming along nicely. Hope to make some passes at RCMP this fall. Still waiting on my bottom end kit. Couple pics of the parts pile.

Quick shitty mockup to make sure the turbo, mani, dipstick, water lines, block, etc. all clear each other. So far so good.

Water line touches the block and makes an S bend. Probably will have to strap it down so the block doesn't rub a hole in it.

Got my autoworks order in. Oil line kit with restrictor, walbro fuel pump, black box delete.

Oil line kit is very nice. Just I got sent a T3 drain flange instead of a T25 drain flange so I had to redrill it.

Bottom end kit from FJ is supposed to be here Monday.

Keeping myself busy waiting for parts...

Installed drain fitting into the oil pan. Just drilled a hole that was slightly smaller than the threads and then smashed them together, twisted it in, and it made its own threads, haha. The tap would have probably been 50 bucks, fuck that. I mean christ the 3/4" drill bit I needed for this was $20. Then I bent it upwards and then JB welded around the outside to be sure.

Added a breather filter to the egay catch can so it will actually be functional for a boosted motor.

Plan to paint the block this weekend. Then when I get my bottom end kit, quick hone, make sure the important clearances are good (plastigauge bearings, P2W, and ring end gap), then start assembly.
